It's not a bad song. However, I do like the upbeat tracks more. I hated high school with a burning passion. For reasons that most people won't understand, I found it incredibly difficult to make friends. I never actually realized that part of my difficulty with relating to other people was simply because I had no idea that I was gay. Nothing personal, but my experience was entirely different.

same here! well just my first year of high school, was the worst time of my life so far but then it was my decision to change that and it eas difficult but at the end of the day I made awesome friends and the rest of my experience in high school was amazing, unforgettable. I hope you try to be happy and I know that is hard sometimes to conect with people but that's because you haven't met the right ones yet.

Steve, I was not familiar with your music prior to discovering you on Youtube. You are a talented performer which causes me to make one criticism, not about you but instead about the way your vocal performance has been recorded. I've listened to a few of your music videos and in each video, roughly about half the time, I have a difficult time understanding the lyrics you are singing. I have listened to these videos by way of a pair of excellent professional headphones that, to say the least, are very revealing. Perhaps the problem is not the microphone being utilized but rather some type of digital affect being applied to the recording of your voice in post production. There are spots where, in my opinion, the orchestra is playing too loud (in comparison to the volume of your singing) which also interferes with being able to understand the lyrics you're singing and causes the listener to have the impression that the orchestra is competing with you rather than accompanying you.
I hope that neither you or your production team takes offense to my comments. I think you are talented and I am trying to help improve your recordings.

Country and homosexuality has never fully been known to come to terms. It's hard to find a country love song that you can play and think about the man that you love and have it still be sung by a man. Country music needed Steve Grand and I'm so glad he found his spot I listened to All American Boy and was damn near in tears because finally a country song that I didn't have to change anything in my mind. I also had a special lady in my life, we got married in 1972 and moved to California from Ohio...before I accepted I was gay...we separated but were able to become good friends before she died in 1999 of cancer...this song brings back so many wonderful memories...thank you.
