they were a great band to see live. They were all talented. Shame they had a bad manager who took advantage of them. Would be nice to see the original group together again. Mark, sang, wrote, played guitar, drums, piano, harmonica and a great showman

In 1971 I was serving in the Military in Germany and went into the serviceman club to play the drums and these two guys came in and asked to jam with me. They started playing this jam and i was just awestruck. i couldn't even play. It was just that good. Grand Funk just blows my mind.

I told my friend who is 58 and he said he saw them when he was a preteen in Philly. He was shocked I didn't know them. Well ummm I am younger than you.

These guys should be in the R&R Hall of Fame a long time ago! The bad thing about it is too many people judge a band's impact on their history based on the number of #1 hits on the billboard chart, not necessarily on how good a band is on their own merit! JMO!

1970 I was a high school jock. The stoners didn’t much care for us, likewise. Then one of them picked me up walking home from baseball practice, Grand Funk was playing in his El Camino... and, well,,,, life was augmented. Chaffey High School 1971. Tigers!

They are already in the hall of fame in the hearts of their fans that know good music when they hear it and can't bare to listen to the garbage that's being passed off as "rock" music.

There's a different live version of Heartbreaker and Mel's bass becomes the lead guitar for a minute or so without Farner playing over him like in this performance.

GFR out sold the Beatles in Shea Stadium and they are not in the Rock Hall. The reason I found out was “no Mark Farner” Mark Farner will be in before Grand Funk. Sad that Donnie does not wake up. Saw them a few times without Mark. Just not Grand Funk Railroad. Just not! Period. No debate.
