I vaguely  remembered   Grace Jones  singing the line,  "I was there when Jenny Lind first sang"  and  this  evening  the mystery  was  finally  solved  after  seeing  the new  film  "The Greatest Showman."  While  the  film  takes  many liberties for  dramatic   effect with  the  reality,  Jenny Lind  must  have   been  quite  the  sensation.  Due  to  the  era  she  lived in, recorded music  was  not  possible.  Grace   Jones  does  a mighty  fine  job  of  this  recording.

I heard this when it was out. One of the local dance clubs played it as a slow track at the time. Loved this song immediately. I had bought the album for "Pull Up to the Bumper"... this song was an added bonus.  (Also liked Feel Up too). Randy, TLC.

Interesting point, yes, could definitely imagine Dusty singing this. Thought Hurricane album was her best in years, covering a wide area of music from the classic pop/disco sound of Williams blood through to the dark Massive Attack, "Mezzanine" like feel of Corporate cannibal. Also liked her collaboration with Tricky on the title track. Perhaps they ought to make an album together as they seem to bring out the best in each other. Would like to hear her cover his Christian sands track.

Talkative, warm, kind, giving and signed all my material and took a photo and was so WOW! She was also so beautifully eccentric and a complete HOOT, she made us laugh so much! AMAZING being!!!
