Goldsboro, Bobby - If You Wait For Love Lyrics

Do dow dow dow...

I've got so much to say
And so little time to talk
And with so little time
It's best to say nothing at all

Just let me love you while I can
When I'm gone you'll understand

That if you wait for love
It may be too late for love
This day you'll never forget
And when I'm gone
You'll have no regret

Do dow dow dow...

Though I'm leaving today
I'll remember this day
For a long, long time
And I'll remember the way
That I heard you say you're mine

Just let me love you while I can
When I'm gone, you'll understand

That if you wait for love
It may be too late for love
Today you are mine, can't you see
It's now or never for me

Do dow dow dow...

Aw, just let me love you while I can
When I'm gone, you'll understand

That if you wait for love
It may be too late for love
This day you'll never forget
And when I'm gone
You'll have no regret

Do dow dow dow...

On this day in 1965 {August 21st} Bobby Golsboro performed "If You Wait for Love" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program 'American Bandstand'...
At the time the song was in it's first week on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #94, four weeks later it would peak at #75, and that was also it's fifth and final week on the Top 100...
Between 1961 and 1973 Mr. Goldsboro had twenty-six records on the Top 100 charts; two* made the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "Honey", for three weeks in 1968...
His other Top 10 record was "See the Funny Little Clown", it reached #9 {for 1 week} in 1964...
Bobby Goldsboro will celebrate his 77th birthday this coming January 18th {2018}...
    * He just missed having a third Top 10 record when "Watching Scotty Grow" peaked at #11 in 1971...

I saw Bobby Goldsboro at the fairgrounds in Salt Lake City in about 1973 and he was wonderful I have loved him long before that and ever since. I love you Bobby. You are the best thing singer that has ever been. And music has made my life ever since I was 12 years old and I'm 62 now.
