Gold, Andrew - All I've Got To Do Lyrics

Whenever I want you around, yeah
All I gotta do
Is call you on the phone
And you'll come running home
Yeah, that's all I gotta do

And when I, I wanna kiss you, yeah
All I gotta do
Is whisper in your ear
The words you long to hear
And I'll be kissing you

And the same goes for me
Whenever you want me at all
I'll be here, yes, I will
Whenever you call
You just gotta call on me, yeah
You just gotta call on me

And when I, I wanna kiss you, yeah
All I gotta do
Is call you on the phone
And you'll come running home
Yeah, that's all I gotta do

And the same goes for me
Whenever you want me at all
I'll be here, yes, I will
Whenever you call
You just gotta call on me, yeah
You just gotta call on me
You just gotta call on me

Wtf is happening 😂 can someone please explain?

  2. L.... H....

    What’s the music used here?

  3. J.... S....

Seriously what is the music used in this scene?

  4. l.... ....

The cornetto trilogy is easily one of the greatest trillogys i have seen

  5. M.... ....

Its really amazing how this movie combines a ridiculously cheesy alien invasion storyline with a deeply tragic and adult one, and it somehow works.

  6. M.... ....

God Im crying right now. I never knew gary was suicidal. I have seen this movie countless times and didn't read in between the lines. Poor dude.

  7. M.... ....

    *SUPLEX!*

  8. N.... ....

    The climax fight...

Is about a British man they to drink one more time before death

  9. W.... R....

That's the reason The World's End doesn't work as well as Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz. All three are homages to genre movies (zombie, cop, sci-fi), but in this film the genre elements are completely eclipsed by the human drama.

  10. 1.... ....

It's tough to realize that your life peaked at 18, and you're way past that age.

  11. s.... m....

ANDY: WHAT'S SO IMPORTANT ABOUT THE GOLDEN MILE??!!
    GARY: ITS ALL IVE GOT!!!
😭😭💔💔💔💔💔💔OMG I BROKE IN THAT MOMENT...

  12. M.... _....

That delivery of “It’s All I’ve Got” has that perfect tone of desperation behind it

  13. c.... e....

simon pegg is such a good actor in the three movies he plays such different characters and so well

  14. T.... L....

Simon pegg is really underrated this movie took a shocking turn when he shows his wrists it shows how desperate and depressed he is

  15. V.... N....

In all the praise for Simon Pegg, everyone seems to be forgetting Nick Frost. In the past two movies, he was the immature, no-future, bumbling character, but in this he plays the straight man ridiculously well.

  16. S.... ....

man this is such a great movie

  17. V.... ....

I need to watch this again

  18. d.... e....

    Hey that’s a choke-slam 🤩🤩🤩🤣😆🤣😆🤣😆

  19. J.... G....

After I attempted suicide, I went back to watch this movie, and when Gary finally open I cried so hard, and I still cry, because everything he said is so real for me, I feel exactly the same

  20. A.... P....

I swear he turns into a zombie

    A.... P....

    Wrong movie mate.

  21. P.... ....

After watching this scene, I began to see Gary as a truly relatable character in this movie. Although he is a little more disillusioned than others, what he said in this scene can be seen in everyone’s life. I do like his other characters in Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, but Gary will always be my favorite. I believe it’s because he’s a little more developed while the others can kind of be categorized quite simply.

  22. M.... T....

This is easily more emotional than the ending of Titanic

  23. A.... E....

How can you tell if your drunk if your never sober

  24. d.... ....

I just punched my wedding ring out of a robot's tummy!

  25. I.... !....

This is the scene in the film where you realize that it’s not just a regular film. This hit so deeply and really catches you off guard. Like all of the classics it makes you FEEL something

  26. S.... W....

I knew it was shady that he didn't want to show his arm earlier to prove he was the real Gary King.

  27. S.... W....

Gary, mate...how can you tell when you're drunk if you're never sober?

I DON'T WANT TO BE SOBER...

*It never got better than that night.*

  28. S.... ....

"The feeling like we could take on the whole universe" - I've seen this film at least 5 or 6 times, but I just got that line. Wrights writing in this film is so dense, every single sentence helps to build the bigger picture. An underappreciated masterpiece, just because it's more depressing and less funny than the other two cornettos.

  29. c.... ....

Damn... that stuff he said he said hits pretty hard.

  30. D.... B....

This kinda pissed me off, let the man have a glass lmao

  31. A.... A....

Simon Pegg looks like he coyld play the joker pretty well...set aside all the fuckery.

  32. S.... W....

*They told me when to go to bed!*

  33. V.... ....

Hi, i'm Oliver chamberlain, and poor gary

  34. J.... M....

I was in same vote with him I felt that high school was best Times and my peak or so I thought but just like him I had bud who help me

  35. J.... F....

Why doesnt he just let him have a pint

    J.... F....

He already had 11 pints. That last one probably would've killed him. That was the whole point of him doing the golden mile again.

  36. T.... i....

Somebody around the world is going through this right now with alcoholism always getting drunk never sober.

  37. V.... P....

Their is a fence scene a cornetto scene and a pub in avery of these three movies

  38. M.... H....

Shoot I thought the bandages were from shooting up

  39. d.... b....

1:27 simon pegg's face makes that shot

  40. L.... H....

The 37 dislikes are from the blanks that got bashed

  41. J.... B....

This speech is so relatable it’s sad

  42. S.... V....

    So funny....love it

  43. B.... B....

    What’s the music used here

    B.... B....

Beep Boop called the World’s End on the soundtrack by Stephen price

    B.... B....

    Sydney Hawthorn thank you 😊

  44. R.... L....

Powerful scene. Shame this isnt the finale

  45. A.... A....

    Question:-
If the alien invasion hadn't have happened and the gang had completed the golden mile....what next?
It's heartbreaking, but id hazard a guess that Gary King commits suicide :(

    A.... A....

Anthony Aman he was the only character who didn’t bring luggage so I’m assuming that was the goal

    A.... A....

Yeah sadly, I've been there and I've seen it before. The last hurrah. Its scary how hidden it can be sometimes, people around you think you are having a good day or a normal day. But it isn't. The concept of having a perfect day before hand, going out with a bang if you will. Have you seen Russian Doll? The lead character explains it to another character in that show as well.

    A.... A....

Gary King would have had nothing to go on with hence the "It's all I've got!" quote from King. He didn't bring any luggage compared to others (neither his toiletries or meds) and was planning to end it all after the final pint in The Worlds End.

  46. D.... D....

I don't care what people says : The World's End is the best movie of the (overall awesome, that is not the question) trilogy and this scene is the best of Edgar Wright's career. There's simply everything in it.

  47. A.... S....

This scene just breaks my heart. Whenever I don't feel like going out and having a drink with old pals I remember this movie and change my mind inmediately. We've all got a Gary King in a bunch of friends... and its usually yourself.

  48. B.... R....

I hated Shaun + Hot Fuzz don't really care for British humor but Scott Pilgrim and World's End are my top 5 favorite movies of this decade. Go figure.

  49. B.... ....

How is it you make a scene that is essentially a bloke fighting his mate in order to have pint...how do you make that not only dramatic but also give it a huge emotional punch?

Become Edgar Wright, that's how. Bloke's a genius.

  50. E.... t....

    what is that music’ name

  51. J.... ....

02:15 I know that feeling, everything supposed to be great, but bad decisions ruined everything. It's so hard to deal with.

  52. E.... H....

"I don't want to be sober"... you and me both....

  53. M.... m....

I think this my most favorite movie clip of all time. Too relatable.

  54. A.... 1....

And thus the roles have been reversed: now Simon plays the "loser" character, when Nick had that role in the beginning of the Cornetto Trilogy.

  55. Y.... G....

Comedy, action, emotion, and random. Awesome movie.

  56. s.... s....

he says that the feeling of beig able to take on the whole universe was a lie but then they defeat a alien race spanning massive regions of space

  57. u.... ....

I like this movie because I can relate to Gary so much.

    u.... ....

    No u cant be quiet

    u.... ....

Yes I can and I'll be as loud as I want!

    u.... ....

@uK8cvPAq Shut up bro you upload ridiculous 'Jesus Hotline' and 4chan videos to your channel. You are not an alcoholic loser who used to be an absolute mad lad back in high school, and there is no way you can possibly relate to being one. Be as loud as you want you to, it does not disregard the fact that what you're saying is utter 'bullshittery'. Keep living in your imaginary world where you wish you could be like Gary King, who is all but a fictional character.

    u.... ....

Nothing wrong with a healthy imagination.

  58. M.... L....

For a second I thought this was the sequel to Shaun of the dead 😂😂😂

    M.... L....

    It is (kind of).

  59. k.... ....

film got surprisingly depressing at parts

  60. J.... ....

    This film is a masterpiece.

  61. M.... M....

This scene genuinely made me cry and I don't do that

  62. T.... A....

Though I found the film unevenly paced and in need of a little tightening up, his scene is amazing and really elevates the whole.

  63. E.... 6....

I remember reading somewhere they mentioned Gary's character is like Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman, he hadn't worn that outfit since he was 18 years old, same way Frank wore his military blues before he was going to commit suicide. Powerful stuff...

    E.... 6....

I think we're supposed to assume he wears the outfit every day (apart from in the hospital) because he "saw the boys the other day" and will pick them up on "Friday, 3 oclock, sharp." Insinuating he's been in the same outfit for several days. And still dyes his hair.

    E.... 6....

@Sydney Hawthorn I agree with ENK 64; I don't think he wore that same outfit until he decided to reattempt the pub crawl. He's been in the same outfit for several days, but just to appear the same way to his friends and try to recapture his youth. I don't think he wore it every other day of his life before that.

    E.... 6....

loki352 you make a fair point. however, the other factors he’s kept the same in his life: black hair, cartilage hoop, rings, soup dragons cassette, the beast, and his childlike personality, all allude to his stunted growth. Therefore, it wouldn’t be far off to induce he’s been wearing the same clothing for 23 years.

  64. O.... T....

"God knows am losing, but i will continue to fight, because that is how we survive!" True words to live by.

  65. P.... T....

    Damn.... this scene

  66. M.... ....

I see a lot of people claiming that Gary being suicidal came as a surprise, but in reality, the subtle clues were laid on throughout the movie.

First of all, when Gary gets to the station to take the other guys to newton haven, we get to see that, unlike his friends, he never brought any luggage with him. This is confirmed, when the guys are all walking towards the B&B, Gary is bringing no luggage in with him, implying that he never intended on coming back to London. (Also, even if he was suicidal, people with depression are often un-motivated, and therefor might not bother changing clothes anyway)

Second, when peter is Discussing Shane Hawkins (Peter’s childhood bully), peter says that he’d “rather not bring it all up again if that’s ok”, to which Gary responds “Hey, now listen Pete, bottling up past trauma can lead to inadequate coping strategies in later life... or so I’ve heard”. This heavily hints towards Gary’s therapist giving the same, or at least similar advice. Gary’s “inadequate coping strategy’s” are most likely self harming/self mutilation, as is hinted to in my next point. (Although these coping strategies could also be drug use, as Steve tells Gary earlier on in the film “you sold my guitar to buy drugs”)

Thirdly, the most obvious clue, the scene in the worlds end (the pub) between Gary and Andy. Andy lifts up Gary’s sleeve to reveal his bandaged arms, and a medical tag. This implys that Gary is at least in some sort of treatment program for his aforementioned self-harm issues, which explains why Gary refuses to show his arms earlier on in the film, as he is embarrassed by his scars. It is more likely, however, that Gary has actually been sectioned in a medical ward. This is of course only speculation but there are some subtle clues left in the movie that might hint towards this.

For a start, in the opening scene when Gary is getting dressed, we get to see his room, in which all of his toiletries (toothbrush etc) are kept IN his room, however, if he was living in an apartment/house, he would most likely keep them in the bathroom, for obvious reasons. But if he is staying in a medical ward, he might not have a personal bathroom to keep all his stuff in, and instead would have to keep his toiletries in his bedroom.

Next, (and I know this is not concrete evidence), Gary has began to grow stubble on his face. Bearing in mind how insistent he was on coming in the exact same outfit, mode of transport etc when returning to newton haven, it seems a little odd that he hasn’t bothered shaving, especially considering the fact he refuses to accept that he is getting old, and a beard is a pretty clear indication of aging. A possible reason for this, is that he’s not allowed to have a shaving razor in the medical ward, as he could take the blades out of it to use as a tool for self-harm, which subsequently means he hasn’t had the opportunity to shave recently (this would also indicate that he was only sectioned recently, as his stubble hasn’t grown very much)

Also, concerning the medical tag, your probably wondering why he didn’t just cut it off if he didn’t want the other guys to find out about his issues, but in actual fact, he probably left it on so that it was easier for his friends and family know why he killed himself, and that it wasn’t their fault. Of course we know Gary never ends up going through with his planned suicide, which is why it’s still on his wrist at the end of the movie.

Finally, when Gary is sitting on the hill, looking at the exploded newton haven, he realised that he only came back to the town to end his own life, but in turn, and in part due to his selfishness, has ended up ruining the planet, and dragging everyone else down with him, just as he had dragged all his friends down with him earlier on in his life. This may also explain why he didn’t stay with the guys at the end of the film, and instead went off to find the younger, blank versions of his friends, because he feels an immense guilt about essentially destroying his best friends lives forever. Although, in fairness, they most likely only split up to find each other’s individual family/loved ones.

I love Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, but The Worlds End is just so clever, and so subtle, it’s absolute cinema gold and immensely underrated, due to (in my opinion) its slight decrease in comedy compared to the other 2 films.

Hopefully you can spot some of these clues during your next rewatch of the Film.

    M.... ....

and when he refuses to show his arm :’(

    M.... ....

I haven't watching this movie yet but after reading this I'm know putting it on my next-to-watch list. Thanks for the detailed analysis.

    M.... ....

I don't think it's guilt that motivates Gary's role in the end of the movie. He's going on these adventures because he likes it, he might have ruined it all for everyone else but he's ready to take on the whole world now because it doesn't have to be complicated nor boring anymore to be an adult.

Basically he's just indulging himself in this pseudo-fantasy land.

    M.... ....

Also when Gary's on the hill with Andy he finally says "I'm sorry", finally admitting his guilt and taking full responsibility for everything; not just what happens during the night

    M.... ....

This movie is funnier than Shaun Of The Dead imo.

  67. J.... W....

you know what, Gary King is a great character, I think he just resembles what it is like to want to hold onto ur youth and the struggles of having a form of addiction

  68. Z.... t....

I relate to this so much. I had thoughts of suicide but never actually cut myself, I just buy video games and tons of junk food, because all my friends abandoned me, I have social anxiety and struggle to connect with others, never got a job before or know how o set up my career. I’m a pathetic excuse of an adult so I just binge eat and watch tv and buy things cos it’s the only thing that makes me happy.

  69. W.... y....

    I dont wanna be sober

  70. B.... ....

I love how this explains the scene earlier where Gary refused to show his elbow, at the time it left the audience to assume that he wouldn’t because he was ashamed of the accident, but really it’s because if he didn’t his friends would’ve found out he tried killing himself.

  71. l.... L....

    Turn on captions at 1:20

  72. R.... M....

This scene shows how much deep and mature this movie is despite the parody and funny scenes. We cant live in the past, we have to grow up and go on.

  73. E.... E....

This is definitely the smartest of the 3 films: the others had conflicts that didn't have real significance, but in this, robots taking over the world is the perfect external manifestation of Gary's internal conflict: the world's been changing and growing up around him while he stays the same.

    E.... E....

Now that you mention robots instead of the typical "blanks", I've just thought that they're also a metaphor with how Gary sees everyone else in the world. Like he says in the pub where they first encounter the blanks, "You're all slaves, and I'm free to do whatever I want, any old time!". Gary sees himself as a free man while the rest of the world conform to society's standards, which is also why The Network eventually just gives up on trying to convince Gary to join them; The Network represents order and stability and Gary is just sheer chaos that The Network can't nor could they ever correct

    E.... E....

Instead of being called “blanks” they are actually Androids

  74. S.... ....

"That night [...] was supposed to be the beginning of my whole life. All that promise and optimism? That feeling that we could take on the whole universe? _It was a _*_BIG LIE_* ."
There's so much pain and sorrow in that line. I think everyone has had that naive happiness from their youth slip like that at one time or another. The reveal that Gary is actually painfully aware how much of a relic of his past he is pretty heartbreaking.

  75. T.... ....

This film is a cult classic.. just like most simon pegg movies are!

  76. D.... S....

I hear you, Gary. For a comedy, this movie can sure hit home in some instances.

  77. s.... ....

I would have followed you to the end... I FUCKIN HAVE - amazing delivery

  78. J.... c....

I love Simon pegg, and Nick frost, in each of the movies they're in,they have such great chemistry, and i think that's because they're actually really close in real life.

  79. K.... N....

The fact that this one scene ties up so many points in the story and in his character all in one go makes it one of my favourite scenes, and favourite movies, of all time. For me at least, it is painfully relatable. What a great character, and what awesome acting.

  80. T.... O....

This is so powerful. You can really feel the disappoint in both of them with Gary. And that line "It's all I've got" it's truly heart breaking.

  81. G.... K....

gary is the best character ever

    G.... K....

    Oliver is my best character

  82. G.... K....

This is basically me and a friend of mine. Imagine my friend as Gary and me as Andy.

  83. G.... ....

There’s something so admirable about actors who can bring this kind of beautiful, authenticity to a performance in the midst of a ridiculous comedy.

  84. S.... ....

As someone with drink problems, several lines in this film really hit home, especially during this scene.

  85. E.... R....

    I cry every time ;-;

  86. D.... P....

So, are you Gary or Andy? :D

  87. S.... ....

    turn on subtitles at 1:20

    S.... ....

LMAO hashashhahahhahahahahha I'm speechless right now!!!

    S.... ....

    😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂

  88. J.... s....

This seen really made me cry every time I watch the movie, it should more of Garry past and you get why he want to do the golden mile so badly

  89. W.... P....

There are twelve bars that Gary needs to complete the Golden Mile. In Alcoholics Anonymous, there are twelve steps you need to take to be sober. After 'The World's End', Gary is sober and asks for water

    W.... P....

its just a number.. no need to mention x-ploitin mechanisms

    W.... P....

and yes ..in some ways ppl have to grow above onesided selfreflects to 'take part in a bigger game [...]

    W.... P....

    Mind = Blown

  90. L.... F....

This scene hit me just as I saw my friends left for their respective paths. I thought life would get better as time goes on, still you always cherish those great moments with friends. If there's one thing I learned in this film, it's that you can't keep living in the past.

  91. S.... E....

1:22: That may be Simon Peggs best line, in like, ever.

  92. r.... ....

nice to see they had the Michael Bay color correction

  93. L.... F....

OMG. I don't mean to ruin the mood, but turn on the captions on 1:21.

    L.... F....

    Mellow Accent WTF?! 😂

  94. S.... D....

Why are so many misquoting the line "They told me WHEN to go to bed!" in the comments section?

  95. A.... T....

Goth damn it. I am searching for a remix of Gary King saying "It's all I've got!" but I think it was deleted from jewtube!

  96. V.... P....

"They told me when to go to bed!" jesus, that line perfectly describes how broken Gary's character is. Such an amazing writing and acting.

  97. M.... ....

Always cry when hear that 1:22

  98. s.... ....

Gary’s bandages on his wrists now explain why he didn’t show his arms to the group previously in the film.
