Don’t usually listen to any kind of death metal (they’re progressive death metal, no?) but the instrumental aspects of Gojira are mind blowing. Also Joe does have an extremely unique voice, never heard a style quite like his. Awesome band.

Off our fear of dying, we are trying to make the most we can off life, because we know we are gonna die in the end. Enjoy the present, because we don't know the time we have. This apreciation for life only has meaning because it ends, if it was eternal, we would not make a big deal out of it. Appreciate what you have, man; because you don't know what is gonna happen once we die, but at least you will die without any regret.

Easy. "Death" could either designate the moment when you die, or your "state" after that. And that's the key : "moment" and "after". Fact is, we don't know what is "time". The past is gone, the future does not exist, the present is already past. We don't understand it, from a scientific or philosophic point of view. Is the past really gone, knowing that space and time are closely related ? So, we don't know what is time, past, present or future, thus we can't know what death truly is. And if what we perceive of "time" (or space time) is an illusion of our limited senses, then the same is true for death.
And if you can be only at one place and one time "at once", then, what thing took the place and time you were a second ago ? Will it ever catch you up ?

@loys zimmermann My guess is that we can only learn the truth once we died, because when we crossed that barrier, that illusion to our limited senses, we are gonna be able to see the full picture. When we transcend, when we are out of this limited world, we are gonna reach the truth. That's my point of view.
