Glen Campbell - We Call On Him Lyrics

We call on him whenever storm clouds gather
We call on him to light our darkest day
Why must it be that only when we're lonely
And hopes are dim (and hopes are dim) we call on him

Why don't we call on him before we lose our way
To count our blessings and thank him while we may

We call on him when no-one else will answer
We ask of him a reason to go on
When our cup of joy becomes a cup of sorrow
Filled to the brim (filled to the brim) we call on him

Why don't we call on him before we lose our way
To count our blessings and thank him while we may

I think you'll find that Elvis never sang this song. There is a man whose name I have forgotten who sings this song and sounds exactly like Elvis

Actually, Elvis recorded this track for a single in 1967.

    Very nicely done here..

If not for the colonel, this might have actually happened.

The Colonel was a sad sad aweful person.

Oh Carl is such a great producer

I knew it! I knew Glen's singing skills were better than Elvis'. But I've mostly only been able to compare apples and oranges. Now here they are singing "together" in the same song, same arrangement, one line by one, the next line by the other. I know this will yank a lot of chains, but Glen was the more talented one. Even if he weren't a guitar virtuoso, he's simply a better singer than Elvis.

BTW, I wish both of them had called on Him very early in their careers. It could have saved them a boatload of heartache. I know Glen returned to his faith. I sincerely hope Elvis did.

    Whatever that means.

What a disgraceful comment to two wonderful singers memories.....beautifully sang and NOT a competition!

As much as I love glenn cambells music and what he achieved there isn't a living soul dead or alive that can even come close to Elvis not even now or in the future and I guess you haven't listened to a lot of Elvis and no you haven't yanked my chain I respect your view and that's your opinion

    @Kelly White - Well said.

How strange you should say that Squee Dow. I was thinking the exact opposite. I LOVE Glen Campell....but side by side comparison shows just how superior Elvis's voice was to Glen's. I fully agree with KELLY and GEORGE.

One of the most beautuful duets I ever heard, even if it didn't really happen technically.
