Personally i didnt think what he was doing in his classes was racist. My spanish teacher always tried to include aspects of the traditional culture into the lessons. Im aware that those things are things of the past, but it really makes it more interesting. Its like if a Japanese teacher throws in lessons about the Bushido code. Samurai are long gone, but it helps you learn a little better, because it isnt so boring.

Mr Schue is getting more embarrassing as each episode goes on :/

They made it uncomfortable, disgusting, and terrifying in the most racist way they can because in the story, Will has no idea about Spanish and Mexican culture. Mixing them up, causing Santana to hate on him.
They did this very well. It's like Run Joey Run and Climb. It's for comedy purposes.
