Gino Vannelli - Where Am I Going Lyrics
Where am I going
Have I gone to far
Have I lost my mind
Where are my eyes
Oh have I seen to much
Losing directions from growing infections
Poisoned desires of reaping life so young
What will I be like
When my head is bear
And my legs are weak
Will I be strong or barely keep alive
When I'm thirty-five
Reaching dimensions that shatter conventions
Leads me to fear that I'm growing old too soon
With every step and every breath
It's farther from youth and closer to death
And that things I've realized
Now beckon me to shut my eyes
And I will grow to the age of maybe eighty years
In such little time
With this venturous mind
What am I saying
Don't I know myself from experience
I'll never change
Nor cease to sail the sky
Till the day I die
I'll come to conclusion with fear or illusion
I'll live how I feel
Cause no matter how fast or how slow
Youth will go

Gino Vannelli Where Am I Going Comments
Wow!!!
Great memories.
I love you Gino ❤❤❤
Wow, I was a young music major in college when this came out in the '70s...,I used to ponder and meditate...,Now.., I have the answers to some of these questions...? Still learning, I am a work in progress. HE's got more abundance in stored for me! Holding on to HIS unchanging Hand!!! HE is my ALL&ALL!!!
I was drawn to this song back in the 1975-76 time frame. My father died the year before, and I had loads of questions about the meaning of life, and this song filled the void for a time. I played this song until the grooves wore of the record. A unique sound for the time in 1975, I still love this song. For certain, no matter how fast or how slow, youth will go. Live your live with meaning, cherish the moment.
Where am I going?... looks like to another hair appointment.
I love you Gino ❤💚💜💜💛😘😊☺
Song with great dynamic range. Used to use it to test speakers
I was 5 years old when I first heard this song and album I am and always was in love with him I am now 49
The music industry is garbage!! Gino definitely deserves Grammy's . Gino a great artist composer writer etc. Top notch music.. fire all the music critics because they no nothing about great music ......

Wow!! This cat is so talented!! I have been a Gino fan since 1973, the guy has been in my music experience ever since. Can't thank Gino enough. Gives me tears just thinking about how his music has affected me.
Vanelli creates Music for Musicians to express themselves. You gotta love that
This is A-typical Gino! June 2019. Anyone listening?!
Going to see him November 1st 2019 in new Orleans
Always...
@Glenn Dixon same! I found the announcement in the newsfeed
5 nov 2019...
Tell me! ♥️
One of the greatest artist/performer/composer/singer EVER!!!!!
Legendary...every song has its deep story...
The wheels of life keep turning!
When I bought "Storm at sunup" and I heard this song ..I thought: "WOW! Now I'm about 53 and I say: "WOW" more time! So many chords, change of tempos ect...WOW..What a music..What a voice..still today! Here in Italy I've seen him two times..last concert was in 2016..What can I say? Gino, you're incredible!
Incredible synth usage.(Farfisa, Univox I think). Great sounds for the time. Really knew how to get the most out of keyboards and overdubbing. Wow!
Saw him in concert and he used all keyboards
Classic Gino jazz fusion...... truly outstanding.
Reality Check!
Gino Vanelli sua música é completa um som feito com a alma!
Only you can control your destiny. Life is short. Be satisfied and simply live your life
To Me? 😊. ♥️. This is a great Song.
What can I say: Gino Vannelli A Brilliant Artist~~
I've seen Gino at every genre of his musical career. It doesn't get
any better than this! I loved The Big Synthesizer sound! Joe Rocked it~
I just saw Gino 2 yrs. ago At Seneca Casino Niagara Falls. Fabulous as always!
SING GINO. 🎶❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎶😊
Albert, I am the same age and can say: I feel the same !!
♥️. They say home is where the heart is. Who’s got yours ? ♥️.
♥️. Why do I feel a da ja vu ?
My then husband could not handle me loving this album, needless to say he had to go. LOL!
Age like fine wine! ♥️
My humorous thoughts regarding this song and the feel of this song ,,,,,,,, A Great Adventure! The more serious side of my thoughts,
Where do you want to go? ♥️
What’s the answer mystery man this woman’s confused
You better bring some serious shit as a player if you think you're going to play Gino's gig...
I guess my question is where do you want to go? Seems to be a day to day thing. I know where I want to go, but that depends on a certain someone.
Something, Sometime, I feel that way. The ups and downs.
Every single word is so poignant and to write such words at the age of 23 is absolutely astounding to feel so much.......he is the same age as my husband that has just passed this past April......every word sung I think of my husband who was an amazing guitarist as well and had wanted to play with this man this wonderous voice...
Great story
Sorry for your loss
Gino proved to be beyond the time bubble in which we are pressed to live.
Brilliant music
This is his best song...takes me to the summit every time it's played.
Incredibile
I will forever love this man and his brother Joe. I loved Gino so many much that no body could say nothing bad about him. My oldest brother came in the house and took my album off the record player and thru it across the room, it broke. Man i jumped on his back and took him down. My father had to get me off him. He brought me a new album. Call me crazy and most do. Never come in between me and my Gino.
shoulda scratched his eyes out
kimberly joe Shoulda broken his fingers. How dare he.

I love you Gino...I was 16 when I discovered your music and it changed my life forever
"No matter how fast or how slow, youth will go." And it sure enough went! You told me this 43 years ago and you didn't lie! I still have this album today (and all your others)!
True! But Gino forgot to add the line: "aging sucks" (though at 23 he wouldn't know)
How sick is the music "industry"? Sick enough to not give him one grammy, ever.
that's correct but the history of music gives him the maximum recognize to his great talent
What a crime. Nobody in pop can touch Gino. Full stop.
maybe it is compliment. grammies are just trinkets the 'industry' gives to those who follow their dictates. i am glad they have lost much of their control over what is released.
My brother knew him, they went to highschool in Montreal together ...It may have come but if I understand right he yanked himself out of the limelight because he felt he was losing himself or he could have been as relevant as any of the big name acts... I believe in an odd way that was his gift to us. Admirably
Tim Burt You kidding me? Is that true? If so it’s outrageous.
This album blew me away when I bought it in 1975 it still does and lyrics to this song have even more meaning all these years later.
Jay Graydon on guitar
Sumptuous
Love you Gino
FINEST white man in the
world in the 70's😘
Hansome DEVIL 😊
And to this day
Ooh wee...🤭😱 that is all!
Will I be strong or barely keep alive...when I'm 35"
35? now I really feel old. At Gino's Studio in Calabasas in 1985 seems like he was more than 35? What a nut!
Now I'm 60.....
He makes it sound like 35 is "old" ... wth? :D
Your comment is spot on and just noticed as I played the song!
Awesome 😍.
He should say the same about you
Thank you to whoever put this up !
Never in the conversation for the greatest songs of the 70's, but it sure should be.
12/31/2017 11:59pm - I will Confess that I " Do Know Where I'm Going ... When I heard this Song the First Time 1977 , I didn't know where I was going . I was 22 & just Divorced with one boy age 2 .. I was Totally Lost ... I have been to that Desert on a Horse with No Name & Made terrible Choices ... That is ALL History Now .. I am Embracing my Experiences & Forging Ahead with Knowledge & Understanding in 2018 .. Thanks for the Music & Lyrics Gino Vannelli & for that Amazing Voice !!!!!
WE ARE GOING BACK INTO THINE EARTH. YEAH!
From the age of 14, Gino Vannelli has never been out of my life... Sometimes he was less present, and sometimes his music had more meaning to me. But now, at the age of 57, this song still takes me apart, and I am truly convinced it is one of the best and most powerful pieces of modern music ever written. Gino...are you still living in Holland, the country where I was born....?
Gino lives in the state of Oregon, USA now.
@AQ Oh, yes, I know that. Being from Canada myself, I grew up being all proud that he was from Canada. When I visited Montréal awhile ago, I had "I Just Wanna Stop" playing in my head the whole time. :)
I couldn´t agree with you more : From the same age, Gino Vannelli has been in my life... Sometimes less , sometimes more... But now, at the age of 58, the song still takes me apart, and I am convinced it is one of the best and most powerful pieces of modern music ever written
Same here
Discovered Gino’s music when I was 17. Hooked for life

This is still awesome; it was so far sighted...big hearted.
