Swear to god. My mom used to play this album and I thought it was some SESEME STREET shit. Love this album. She later told me and my three siblings that this was late father's favorite album. I felt like it was his message to us

This song always takes me back to my days of running around DC. Playing in the alleys; riding bikes until dark; asking if I could cross the street; chasing the ice cream truck, not for ice cream but to jump on the back bumper and ride until the ice cream man make us get off. Rock Creek park in the summer and the at grandparent's house for Christmas. And most importantly being unapologetically Black.
