Gil Scott-Heron - Alluswe Lyrics
Like the weight he's got to ride on
On the scene he must came in
Like the answers to every question
That's what he needs - They'd understand
Black man come down
You can share all that we have
And like the stage he's got t play on
Like the road he's pinning down
Life attacts him just like a magnet
Or was that the other way around
Black man come down
Come on down and sit beside us
You are welcomed to all we own
Of the rooms where we live
Love is stronger with every heartbeat
And this love we gladly give
Just come on down
And sit beside us
Can your mind believe your heart
Black man come down
Yea, come on down, down

I really wish people would leave this sort of music alone, and stop "sampling" it. Make your own music. Stop riding on the coat tails.
I love this song. Gone far too soon. RIP
No brother...you play "at" music....you are not a musician...
I make music son and I don't have to steal other people's music and then try to call it my own...Sampling does nothing for our music so try to actually play some music ...then get back to me....
Critics criticize because they can't produce.Instead of downing a genre that people do listen to why not make some beautiful music if you can?
Why not cresate your own music and your message instead of pimping Gil and other great musicians...
It can out sounding like hip hop watered down bullshit...leave real music to real musicians....
I love the music, and the message, and the feeling, and how Gil embraces our people in this song.
Mike Zoot sampled it and it came out pretty nice so there.
@Liyatastic95 Unfortunately, some people are close minded, which is terrible seeing as Gil is and was such an inspiration to us hip hop fans. I'm gonna make a rendition of this and I will send it to you.
R.I.P-GODFATHER of RAP-
RIP brother Gil.......we will miss you...
RIP beautiful spirit.
@Liyatastic95 I rather not have a rap group redo it because that will just mess the music up ...
wants my iner being to return. I long for the days that my mother cooked with salt jowl (anybody remember?) .. and the goverment cheeze......that song reminds me when I was too poor to watch ali vrs frasier 1. I long for those days.. thank u free2339.
LOVE this song on this album. Brian & Gil just KNOW KNOW KNOW how to make fantastic music together. See, this is one person who may not have the voice for opera or gospel, but who's soul, style, creativity surpasses that expectation. Almost all my other inspirations are like that too (Shuggie Otis, Fela Kuti to name a few.)
Gil WE LOVE YOU. Can't wait 'til my hero's new album comes out! (In February!!! I believe it'll be called "I'm New Here".)
No problem....
I grew up with this...thank you
No problem..glad you like it...
life atracts him just like a magnet....
