the beatles version had so much warm and positive emotions of optimism towards the idea of the sun shining back again , this one makes it feel completely the opposite, it still has the major happy tonality i guess but it feels very depressing in a way , as if you're a vampire slowly watching as the sun returns to end you for good .

This song the way George Harrison wrote it is a joyous ode to the end of a cold, long winter. It embodies the hope that everything will be all right. George's version makes me incredibly happy, and at the same times saddens me because such a talented and amazing musician is no longer in this world. This Ghost version makes me want to drown myself in the nearest bathtub. Although, I guess it is a kind of skill to take a song about renewal and hope and turn it into a funereal fete...

Having a childhood heavy on the beatles from older beatlemaniac siblings, to me Abbey road wasn't their best work. And this song wasn't really a favorite of mine. But with this cover I'm liking it far more than the original.

Like, no, shut the fuck up you entitled brat, just because you don’t like something that is completely inoffensive, in this case a cover of a Beatles song, doesn’t mean you can’t or shouldn’t enjoy the original thing anymore. Just don’t listen to this version and you’ll be happy.

To me, it's as though these guys are trying to duplicate the success that Disturbed had with "Sounds of Silence" (which I do enjoy). Ghost, IMHO, merely changed this to a minor key...nothing spectacular...for me.
