George Thorogood And The Destroyers - Bo Diddley Lyrics

Bo Diddley bought his baby a diamond ring, but that diamond ring don't shine
So he better take it to a private eye
If that private eye can't see, he better not take that ring from me

Bo Diddley bought him a nanny goat, to make his pretty baby a Sunday coat
Bo Diddley caught him a bear cat, to make his pretty baby a Sunday hat

Mojo, mojo, and black cat bone, took Bo Diddley away from home
Mother ask mojo, where you been?
Up to Bo Diddley's house and back again
Bo Diddley, Bo Diddley, have you heard?
My pretty baby says she wants a bird

The way Rock and Roll should SOUND

  58. L.... C....

Listening/watching George Thorogood's "Who Do You Love" can't help but say go listen to Ronnie Hawkins' version! But try to find his original version when Robbie and company were with him. I actually got to sit in with the Hawks at the Brass Rail in London Ont. (when Garth was busy with family issues). Later my own band "the Johnny Stevens Sextet" covered the Hawks version. The Hawks' version totally kicked ass unlike any band then or since. Find it and be amazed :)

    L.... C....

@Lou Crockett It's on the Last Waltz movie.

    L.... C....

Hi Raymond, yes it is... but even that version is watered down from the way they used to do it. Levon kicked it all into overdrive when they did it and Ronnie got in Robbie's face, yelled encouragement and the thing went off like a bomb driving until the entire club was throbbing like some sort of dark ritual :) Truly have never seen or heard or felt anything like it since. Wasn't overly loud it just pulsed clean. Only overdrive there was at the time was Robbie's Fender amp which he pushed to the point of exploding. His Tele was sharp and clear even when he found a way to overdrive his amp before there were distortion units. Completely unique sound. He was often on his knees during his "40 Days and Bodiddly" solos with Ronnie screaming at him to push it!! Haaaaaa... it was totally outrageous and made their reputation what it was. Frickin' Amazing :)

    L.... C....

look at that mouth! !!!! sounds good too and I'm a bo diddley fan too! !!!! yeah baby yeah! !!! thank you for this! !!!!!

  59. S.... L....

Germany is correct, Denton. It was introduced by A German announcer before cutting to the performance, but I simply edited that out.

    L.... ....

Should have left that bit in my opinion.

Still regardless of that, thanks for sharing a bit of history.

I saw Bo Diddley once ma y years later and he was amazong. One of best of all the 1950s guys I'd see.

  76. L.... ....

It took some work, Denton. The clip came from the "Missing Bits" torrent file, and yeah man, the video itself is actually in decent shape. The audio for it left something to be desired though... In a nutshell, it was crap dude. But luckily someone had a better audio track of it posted, so I shared it and spliced it in. Worked like a charm.

  77. L.... ....

Nice, me too! Thanks for your view... Also I do believe this is the first time this actual video has been on YouTube. Somebody had the audio of it up, but I've never seen the video before. One of the hardest to find "Missing Bits"!

  78. C.... P....

    i love this video..
