George Thorogood And The Destroyers - American Made Lyrics

It's a desert sky
Full of broken dreams
But it ain't as bad
As it really seems
I'll go miles and miles
On this lonesome road
I got a heavy heart
But I never ask no one to carry my load

American house, American shoes
Gimme that thing called American blues
American work, American pay
Gimme a little love, I'm American made, yeah

I was lyin' down
On a bed of sand
I saw Crazy Horse
Holding out his hand
Said "Lift me up
To where the eagles fly
Because I feel so good
I swear to god I ain't never gonna die"

American house, American shoes
Gimme that thing called American blues
American work, American pay
Gimme a little love I'm American made, yeah

Wooo
American house, American shoes
Gimme that thing called American blues
American work, American pay
god almighty I'm American made

American dreams, American pie
Everybody gettin' that American high
American life, American made
Guaranteed, certified American made
Guaranteed, certified American made
Guaranteed, certified U.S.A.

Made in America, U.S.A.
Made in America, U.S.A.
Made in America, U.S.A.

Since when do you gops listen to blues rock? Your kind prefers that twangified pop calling itself "country music."

Saw him last night and this was the encore.

Correction, early 80's. Too much sex and drugs and rock n' roll.

  5. T.... R....

I saw George with J. Geils and Rolling Stones at Candlestic  Park in San Francisco back in the early 70's. The driving rhythm is addictive.

    T.... R....

He was my final show at the original House of Blues in Harvard Square and my first show when they reopened it next to Fenway. Peter Wolf showed up for the Harvard Square one.

Jeff Simon and Billy Blough are one of the most solid rhythm sections ever in rock and roll history. The Destroyers ROCK!!

Never been a George Thorogood & The Destroyers fan, but I heard this song for the first time just the other day and I've gotta admit it's a darn good cut.  Sounds like something Springsteen could or should have recorded.

Got to LOVE these guys... Saw them in concert in Little Rock, Arkansas when he first started. I KNEW THEY WERE GOING STRAIGHT UP! Then I saw him in Las Vegas a few years back.... NO CHANGE>>> JUST AS GREAT AS EVER!!!

Even after 35 years these guys can still burn down the house. THIS is real rock and roll!
