George Jones - We Didn't See A Thing Lyrics
Well I swear, I didn't see you with your wife's best girlfriend
Drinkin' beer and a dancin' to that western swing
And I didn't see you kiss her and leave that barroom with her
No I didn't see you, and I didn't see you, and we didn't see a thing.
Tell that blound that you weren't married
I know I didn't see you hidin' your weddin' ring, neither did I
And I know I couldn't have heard you call your wife
And tell her that you were working
No, I didn't see you, and I didn't see you, and we didn't see a thing.
We've got to stick together to keep our stories straight
No, don't forget Ray, I was down in Atlanta, sure you were
And I was workin' late
Yeah, you know, it's always good to see you George
But I didn't see you, and I didn't see you, and we didn't see a thing.
Hey Ray, by the way, did you leave that hundred bucks you owe me
I don't know what you're talkin' about George
Well, I'm sure you recall our bet on last night's football game
No, I don't, but you know, if I had seen you
I certainly would've paid ya.
But I didn't see you, and I didn't see you, and we didn't see a thing.
We've got to stick together to keep our stories straight
Don't forget I was down in Atlanta
And don't you forget I was working late.
But I didn't see you ,and I didn't see you, and we didn't see a thing.
I didn't see you, and I didn't see you,
And we didn't see a thing...

George Jones We Didn't See A Thing Comments
one of these guys is lying.
Anybody know who the gal i s between Ray & Jonesy? Hi s missus, perhaps?
Yes, Georges's wife, Nancy.
We would always play this on the juke box at Mack's Country Kitchen. For some reason, when Ray Charles says he didn't see a thing you just tend to believe him.
Best song team up ever
We all know ray didn't see a thing xD
Love these. ...classic for sure
*George Jones asking Ray Charles to sing a song about not seeing a thang. Sure miss both of them.*
Great collaboration!
Great Song...These two here yeah
True talent right there!
does LP say who played on this record
I believe Ray, but you, George...
Fucking Brilliant.
loved the drummer on this. wonder if that is Charlie on harmonica
lol this song the shit sooo true
Such a great duet. Lyrics are hilarious.
love it <3
two great singers having fun , so much better than the bro pop country of today.
"bro pop country "! I love it. I'm using that !
They hit #6 on ACC, 3-20-84. RIP, Ray, George, and Chet.
no man on this earth sings like George jones
Melvin Mann They broke the mould when they made George.... He was one of a kind...
Melvin Mann OR Ray!
Sammy Kershaw 🤔
Bless you but Verne Gosdin is hands down the winner on that!

Who is the female in the picture?
@dennisjoan blay Nancy Jones
@Tom Page Thanks
This was written specifically for George and Ray by request. The songwriter Gary Gentry also wrote 1959, Lady in the blue Mercedes, The Ride and numerous others.
and the corvette song
marvelous !
Love this!!!
talent times infinity,,,,,,,,Ray was country way fore it was cool.....and George was George love this
Two of the very best.
RIP, brother Ray, and, Possum.
amazing combo
Modern Sounds Volume 1 and 2 are two of the most important pop albums made in the last 50 years. Ray damn near single-handedly changed it all.
Two old dogs bringing their "A" game.
HA!! Just great!!!
congratulations on getting the point of the song
I still find it hilarious that Ray Charles sings, "I didn't see a thing."
Well, we could have guessed that Ray! You didn't have to tell us.
If I were forced to pick my two favorite musicians in this world and ONLY two...It would have to be Ray Charles and George Jones.
this LP also had the Oak Ridge Boys on it was a great tune
I might go haggard and otis redding so we're pretty close lol
I owned the "Friendship" album, then the cassette and now the CD. Still play and enjoy it. Ray did as much for country music as he did for the blues. His 1962 album, "Modern Sounds In Country And Western Music," brought country to a whole new mainstream audience.
wish more people were like these good ol' buddies, too many haters and snitches now days!
THIS IS SUCH A GREAT AND FUN SONG.
Great combination!
The two best singers of ALL TIME!
AWESOME! LOL!
