George Jones - Just When I Needed You Lyrics
Just when I needed you, you left and went away,
You made my life so blue both night and day,
You left me here behind, with a troubled, worried mind,
So broken hearted too, just when I needed you.
To forget you and never call your name,
What a shame, what a shame
You're the one that was to blame
You're the one that proved untrue,
Just when I needed you.
You said, it's best we part, and never love again,
And though it broke my heart, I won't complain,
You know I love you still, and dear, I always will,
Although you proved untrue, just when I needed you.
I cried, I cried, I prayed, and I tried
To forget you and never call your name,
What a shame, what a shame
You're the one that was to blame
You're the one that proved untrue,
Just when I needed you...

My dad would have been 80 years old today. He died five years ago about 2 weeks from now. He was the reason I loved George Jones. I would listen to his albums he had when I was like five years old! I am 51 now. My dad met George once in early 1960’s. He was at a beer joint with his friends and George Jones comes walking in! He was in his fancy Nudie suit on the way to Play a concert at a place in Sheldon ,Texas called Magnolia Gardens on the San Jacinto River . George changed into a T shirt and Jeans played some songs for them and bless his sole got drunk. Dad said his guitar got out of tune so he smashed it apart. My dad got the Body and his friend Charlie got the neck! Dad later lost his part in a flood :( . I remember him showing it to me . The funny thing was George “No showed” his concert and ended up there! The place was called B and C Drive Inn! When my dad passed about a month later George Jones passed! I was devastated . Such a sad time for me lost the greatest man I known and my favorite singer off all time in a month. Thank you George Jones for bringing great joy to my Dad’s and me word with that incredible voice!
We been there one time or another

there'll never, ever be another George Jones, really!
They just don't make em like him anymore.
Wish God would have let us keep him down here a little longer, but I guess that's just us , the fans, being a little selfish.
We miss you, friend.
