Genesis - Domino. Part Two - The Last Domino Lyrics
Blood on the windows
Millions of ordinary people are there
They gaze at the scenery
They act as if it is perfectly clear
Take a look at the mountains
The liquid surrounds me
I fight to rise from this river of hell
I stare round about me
Children are swimming and playing with boats
Their features are changing
Their bodies dissolve and I am alone.
Now see what you've gone and done.
Now see what you've gone and done.
As was seen last night on T.V.
Maybe if we're lucky, they will show it again
Such a terrible thing to see - oh
But there's nothing you can do when you're next in line
You've got to go domino.
Now I'm one with the living and I'm feeling just fine
I know just what I gotta do
Play the game of happiness and never let on
That it only lives on in a song - oh
Well there's nothing you can do when you're next in line
You've got to go domino.
Do you know what you have done?
Do you know what you've begun?
In silence and darkness
Hold each other near tonight
For will it last forever?
Will it last forever - forever...
There's nothing you can do when you're the next in line
You've got to go domino.
Do you know, do you know, do you know what you have done
Do you see what you've begun?
Cos there's nothing, nothing, nothing
There's nothing you can do, there's nothing you can do
Do you see, do you see what you have done?

The little keyboard section from 6:24 to 6:54 is the best thing they ever recorded.

The year I was born, 86. Can't imagine actually hearing this and being 20 or something. Not much music has that charm these days
Good stuff, sounds like New Order. My favourite albums are Nursery Cryme and Abacab.
Got this on vinyl xx
80's at it's best!
"In silence and darkness we held each other near that night. We prayed it would last forever"
GENESIS AT THEIR BEST.
i Genesis......ma cosa si vuole di piu'.......what else?
"Domino Part 1 & 2", just a fantastic song by Genesis! :o) :o)
Just when you think that the epicness of this track is too much to handle Tony kills you with that amazing keyboard riff at 9:58
"Dad why is modern music so awful" said my 14 year old son. Answers on a postcard please.
when phill dies, this will be my farewell hymn ...for the record. 2/5/2019....
Do you know any 70s Genesis? "Ripples" from Trick Of The Tail is by far the most poignant farewell hymn for when we lose any of them.
Welcome to the NWO..Free Assange, Snowden,Manning.Crimes Against Humanity..Brave Souls.
Blood on the windows..Millions of ordinary people out there...They gaze at the scenery..They act as if it is perfectly clear..Take a look at the mountains..Take a look at the beautiful river of BLOOD.The liquid surrounds me.. The lyrics xxxx Welcome to the NWO Free Julian,Snowden & Manning :(
We are 33 years away from this and this was 14 years after Suppers Ready different times and production, a great track.
I'm a child of the 80s and I have my Dad to thank for playing Genesis in the car and on vinyl at home. They are brilliant band and I've carried on listening to them ever since. My only regret is not going to see their reunion tour.
My old man got me into genesis im gonna inherent all his vinyl cheers dad
Lot of money then!
Paid £25 for an Invisible Touch Tour T Shirt at Milton Keynes Bowl it was worth it!
Mug! Bet the seller saw you coming a mile off!
Bring back the 80s
Each comment I see from you is more ridiculous than the previous one.
Why not shut the fuck up until you have something constructive to say?
Went to see them live the Invisible Touch I think 1982 it was fantastic, this song is my best song by Genisis.
You saw the Invisible Touch concert in 1982, that's amazing as the album was released in June '86. Early alzhiemers?
It s almost unbelievable that this music was what was played on the radio in the 80s (1985 in this case). I remember going to a party in 1986 and the music was Genesis, The Police, 80s ballads, Blondie, The Bangles, A-ha, etc. Most of it was quality music.
Now, children listen to horse-poop most of the time
This and Silver Rainbow are the only songs that are not shitty in the '3 piece' Genesis
this is my favorit song from this album
October 2018🎧👍
This album takes me back to Wembley, July 1987, I was there with my brother, what a great concert.

Loved seeing this live.
How is such an epic track conceived ? where do you start, it baffles me
Jamming.then it unfolds.thats how great bands create.
fucking legendary ❤❤❤
From 4.27, the more recent concert version they do of this song is mind-blowing
Hermosa canción! Cómo sabían los de Génesis lo que me iba a suceder con el amor de mi vida treinta años antes? Ella se fue hace 2 años y esta letra describe tan bien como me siento!!!! Great band Genesis, how much do I miss this music and lyirics nowadays!
Ero piccolo avevo 9 anni. È stata la prima musicassetta che mi sono fatto regalare. Domino è sempre stata una delle mie tracce preferite dei Genesis. E finitela di dire che erano grandi solo con Peter e Steve. Questo è pop progressive, si, l'hanno inventato loro.
Essa faixa é tão bonita...a primeira parte principalmente. Genesis ❤
brilliant
Now see what you've gone and done!!!
Well this a song that will be with me all my life as there is so many memories this wonderful music play so many things that I love .memories of the woman I love an will always love no matter what.
Such will aways happen with the woman I love! I always think that "life copies art" when I listen Domino!
3:40 - 4:27 Goosebumps!!
4:27 😻
One of my favourite Genesis songs. So beautiful.
Brilliant
hermoso tema amo! a genesus!!
I’m more partial to Gabriel era Genesis especially Lamb Lies Down..., but this song may up there with one of my favorites
To the 18 thumbs down. You are cocks!
4:29 A time portal opens and gets you directly to the 80s
Jealous of anyone that went to their concert. I was 16 an a Genesis fan in a big way..A friend from work was going an of course I wanted to go back in 1987..Was I allowed of course not..My friend got me a Genesis T shirt which I still have to this day..Would of loved to see Phil Collins. .You bloody talented Genesis genius. .
Genesis has got to be the only band I know where I LOVE more than just a few of their songs..Think I want Genesis played at my funeral..Phil Collins your the genius of Genesis. 💋💋💋💋
Yes afterglow.thats mine
Listen to the 92' live version its amazing!!
"Domino. Part One - In The Glow Of The Night"
The grey of evening fills the room,
There's no need to look outside,
To see or feel the rain.
Then I reach across to touch her,
But I know that she's not there.
Rain keeps running down the window pane.
Time is running out for me.
Can't you see what you are doing to me?
Can't you see what you have done?
As I try to pass another long and sleepless night,
A hundred crazy voices call my name,
As I try to pass them by,
I almost can believe that she is here,
Here in the glow of the night.
Do you know what you have done?
Do you know what you've begun?
Do you see we shall never be together again?
All of my life.
Lonely people, empty rooms,
Pointless violence, silent tombs.
Could it be that we shall be together again?
Sheets of double glazing help to keep outside the night,
Only foreign city sirens can cut through,
Nylon sheets and blankets help to minimize the cold.
But they can't keep out the chilling sounds.
Will the nightmare soon give way to dreaming
That she is here with me?
Here in the glow of the night.
Do you know what you have done?
Do you know what you've begun?
Do you see we shall never be together again?
All of my life.
Lonely people, empty rooms,
Pointless violence, silent tombs.
Could it be that we shall be together again?
Could it be that we shall be together again?
In silence and darkness
We held each other near that night
We prayed it would last forever.

Blood on the Windows

Take a look at the beautiful river of blood.

Children are swimming and playing with boats
Their features are changing
Their bodies dissolve and I am alone.

Now see what you've gone and done.
Well now you never did see such a terrible thing
As was seen last night on T.V.

Amazing song
great synthesizer solo!
¡Perfect!
on a natural high with this bands music
July, Wembley Stadium 1987.. the very last night of their tour - I was there!
@Raffaele Gervasio me too and earlier at Roundhay Park,Leeds
If I weren't just 17 I would've been there. Probably their best concert. I love it
What a truly wonderful band they were...love 'em
"...rain keeps running down the window pane, time is running out for me...'
I think that this is the best song on this album of many hits
This has an early Genesis vibe to it (probably more than any other song on this album).
The lamb
Their last prog rock effort? So great.. those drums are only Phil.
Fading Lights from the following album is very prog rock too imo. Their last effort, "calling all stations" too but that has more of a neo prog feel to it as opposed to an epic classic prog sound.
Even Alien Afternoon from Calling all Stations is a classic Genesis. Great track!
Wtf? Driving The Last Spike, Dreaming While You Sleep, Fading Lights...
SGREM I like Driving The Last Spike very much but it is only "too long pop-song"
wow im starting to notice that thede late genesis albums had some gems and yea i totaly hear lamb lies down but im not gonna be a pretentious douche about it
Nothing pretentious about it; you could imagine this as part of a Lamb triple album, albeit without the Simmons Digital Drums though.. :)
Best track on Invisible Touch.
It won't need much, unfortunately.
Tonight, Tonight, Tonight is my favourite.
There's nothing you can do when you're the next in line.
So glad to have known the 80s. Thank you Genesis
second part so lamb lies down . only real fans notice those subtleties
Stupid Shazam...
musik yg lengkap dan enak dengarkan nggak ada matinya
great song!!powerful!!love you Genesis!!!hello from Greece!!!
I would like to hear that Stratacaster striped from the recording and Steve Hacketts Les Paul played on this song.
Que bella cancion, me fascinan sus transiciones , pasajes y como retoma una y otra vez la melodia base Para mi gusto la ultima cancion progresiva de Genesis
one of the best ever.
Toronto1967 music like this will never be made ever again. All the great music has already been made.......quite sad really
Fuckin 80's rule
28 and brought up on genesis my dad saw them live at old wembley with his father in law. when i was like 5 my dad listened to ultravox and genesis. he always played genesis and told me they awesome while i grew up in the early 90s
He liked keyboard then
Is the last great long song by Genesis?
Si! el ultimo gran album de Genesis tambien
Driving the Last Spike from We Can't Dance (1991).
No, Fading Lights and Driving the Last Spike from We can't dance(both ten minutes long). I would say Fading Lights was the last great one though.
Supper's ready is wonderful
I have not listened to any of this album in ages. I used to hate anything they did post-Duke. But I've come around to actually liking a lot of it.
I go WAY back with Genesis. But yep........this song
I warped at least two of these cassette from over play in late 80's. Absolutely loved Phil Collins and Genesis. IMO they don't get enough accolades / credit they deserve. Only other cassettes I remember wearing out was The Wall , Rumors, and a number of Beatles . Wow...... where did all that time go !!!!
+Ryan Lowe Yup same here. Also purchased Peter Gabriel's Secret World Live CD's multiple times.
We lived it and wore it out.what a decade .
The raw talent that is Phil Colins gets me every time
Do you see we shall never be together again?
@Shamil Basayev All of my life.....
Stop it bro, your making me cry.
MAGNIFICENT! BRILLIANT! xD
This is haunting... every single time I hear it I get goosebumps.
Hell yeah, music that makes you FEEL!!!!!!!!!!!
You should hear "The Waiting Room". Always used to shit me up when I was young xD Especially as I knew what it was about.
Hmm... This song makes me think of Blondie's Heart of Glass when I was about eight or nine years old.
Frickin' goosebumps all over my body.. Damn.
Brilliant album and I love this 2 part track
Une de mes préférées de GENESIS... A ecouter le son a fond!!!
Goosebumps on goosebumps..they just don't breed musicians like this anymore
The best song on this album
TheRealMrJL
I vote for tonight tonight tonight
Yeah, it's got everything
Comfortably
the instrumental ending should have been longer. I'm emailing tony and phil now.
Patrick McKenna bit late, lol.oh, just enjoy it :)
longer...., and lets Tony play his keyboard...
Ya know I like both, but the live was much better!
Music simply dosen't get any better than this.
Part 1 is simply amazing
Beautiful, have always loved this song.
The very last great masterpiece from these great musicians!
