I love Crystal Gayle and this is my favorite song of hers. I always loved this song "Half the way."This has to be one of her best.

This song came out in the 80's. When I was a DJ in 1986 in Cheyenne Wyoming I had a radio request show called pillow talk. Had lots of requests for this song. Waltz across texas by Ernest tubbs was popular also.

Love this timely song even after all these years. it hits home.

When I first saw Crystal Gayle I fell in love with her. What a beautiful woman she was and still is. It was 1977, I was 12 and the song I heard was "Don´t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue". Another beautiful song. Her voice has no match in the music world.

This song came out when Jimmy Carter was president . got to love peanuts. The song reminds me of when I grew up in the Keys very nice.

Love this song, took me nearly 2 decades to figure out the artist & title of the song, for years I assumed it was done by either Linda Ronstadt or Nicolette Larson, I knew it had to come out during the late 70's though because it has that late 70's soft rock sound to it.

Totally forgotten all about this song until when I randomly looked up a bunch of songs off of the 1979 list, I remember I used to hear this on the Satellite Feed at my job back in the early 2000's and could never figure out the artist or title of the song but knew it would be a late 70's/early 80's tune, I assumed it would be Nicolette Larson (best known for her early 1979 hit "Lotta Love").

I practically FORGOT about this song. I just recently heard in my friend's car and my heart just melted away. I absolutely LOVE Crystal Gayle. Crystal Gayle, aka Brenda Gail Webb Gatzimos, turned 67 in January. She is still beautiful, and still has the floor-length hair. She has been married to her high school sweetheart since age 20, and they have a son, daughter and grandson.

She wouldn't be CRYSTAL without the hair....love her!

It's good to hear other Crystal Gayle songs besides the overplayed, "Don't it make my brown eyes blue".

Now the CLASSIC REAL country satellite station, "WILLIE'S ROADHOUSE", owned by Willie Nelson, plays other Crystal Gayle favorites.

Kind of like Linda Ronstadt's BLUE BAYOU. So many other songs by Linda so much better than that overplayed one.

Opening appears to have been "plagiarized" from Elton John's "Philadelphia Freedom".

I haven't heard this song in about 35 years (perhaps the last time was in New Hampshire, on a summer vacation, where the only radio station that one could "get" was country) and happily I heard it this morning. Others are probably more ardent and knowledgeable fans of Crystal Gayle than I am, but I do appreciate any song sung well -- with intelligible lyrics and a pleasant tune. This certainly qualifies!
