Gary Puckett & The Union Gap - I've Done All I Can Lyrics
I searched my mind, but I can't find the word I failed to use
In promising what life will bring if you should not refuse
You've melted down my heart and now it's melted to your hands
It's up to you to pull us through
I've done all I can
Don't let her cloud dissolve the cloud of love light upon
They seemed convinced that you should rinse
Your heart of love you've known
You've hurt their pride and so they try to hurt the life we've planned
It's up to you to pull us through
Because I've done all I can
I've done all I can
I've stood aside while they have tried, but it's gone far enough
So take this ring I'm offering to you with all of my love
So they can see
Ah, no, they can see sign on your left hand
It's up to you to pull us through
Because I've done all I can
I've done all I can

I think this is one year before I first saw my wife in HS band! Memories!
Every girl who ever got her heart broken during high school days in the 60s....will forever love Gary!
Gary Puckett has an incredible voice. Im sorry back in the day, I didn’t give an ear to his music. Too wrapped up in life, while he’s singing about it!
It's too bad that this group with each member having so much individual Talent couldn't have stayed together longer. No telling how big they would have been. I've read that they had a falling out with Jerry Fuller and were tired of all their songs sounding alike but I don't think they needed him to be successful. They had the voices, the instruments, and the music. They didn't need Fuller to come up with all of their songs. He was more into country music. They should have been around many more years together. With or without the uniforms.
yes, very talented. I saw the original band in 1968 and 1969 and they were excellent live. They also had some vg songwriters in the band. One of my favs....No one really knows, written by GP
Love this song. Great band. Nice trek down memory lane. Miss 'em. Thanks for posting.
Fantastic......what else can I say?
