Gary Numan - The Joy Circuit Lyrics
Send in the guards
We are all new faces
I'm so sorry
But my reasons are wrong
My reasons are wrong
We are on joy circuit
The image fix
Rewind, cry
Well it's somewhere to go
Well it's somewhere to go
Tell me of your pain
Love it, love it
Show me the new way
Love it, love it
But all I find is a reason to die
A reason to die

Gary Numan The Joy Circuit Comments
Was this Billy Currie who did the violin on this?
that piano solo
I used to listen to this song as a teen, and it sent me off into a dream of androids in a fractal cathedral, singing electronic hymns, giving algorithmic sermons and taking binary communion to a digital God.
And look at you NOW!
It is my favorite song from that album.
i know the chords at the end are C, Bb, Am but just can't get Paul's bass right.
I like the Ornaments 80 version too
My depressive adolescence in Argentina made me a fan of Gary in the early 80's. It is an emotional memory of this album and its novel compositions with the presence of synthesizers but not forgetting traditional instruments such as bass and drums.

At 3:45, the world suddenly seems small and safe. I love you Gary.
And then at 4:13, the chase of the synthesizer is like you just arrived home and puppies are playfully bouncing around your feet to greet you.
telekon , he lived in a post wire age ...
Genius. Telekon is so underrated. And he wrote this at 21/22? Just crazy. Beautiful song. Makes todays stuff just seem so rubbish.
A top favourite - superb ♥♥♥
Here we go 👌👌👌
This for me is one of the most exciting and uplifting songs EVER!!!Always been a fan.....was around 16yrs old when i first heard it,still gives me chills!
I love this Numan tune. One of his best.
I am almost never reminded of The Beatles when listening to Gary Numan but this song is the exception.
Funnily enough, I can only think of one Gary Numan song that reminds me of the Beatles. In my case it’s Complex from the Pleasure Principle album. It has an Eleanor Rigby feel to it. Thinking about it, I suspect it might well be the same Beatles song that you’re comparing The Joy Circuit to. I’d love to know if it is.
I have been a fan of Mr. Numan for so long and have loved every phase of his evolution including the new material. This song in particular has such a hopeful sounding ending, from 3:44 on, that is rare for him. Maybe that is the Joy in the Joy Circuit.
love nash the slash on this
Nash did not play on this. The strings are Christopher Payne and RRussell Bell.
Sharp sounds that cut right through man! My reasons are wrong... You think your going to get away as the piano comes in but no... the electric violin is still there, a reason to die...Gary wins again.
@Dr. Stephen Stokes Numan is greatly under-rated.
The bass tolling like a bell warns you the violins are coming back to collect you. For whom does the bass toll? It tolls for thee...
