In 1979, at the age of 25, I became a lecturer at West Sussex Ccllege of Design. My memory of that time was that there was a completely obsessive band of 'lookalike' Gary Numan students who carried cassette recorders that played 'Cars' etc as they moved as one around campus. Today, for some reason, I decided I would see what the leader of Tubeway Army was up to. 'My Name is Ruin' was my first second and third play. It's better than the first wave of GN in my view AND absolutely contemporary/NOW in sound and feel. Hats off to Gary Numan for evolving and staying relevant!

I looked up the song cars on spotify and then checked out his discography and saw so many albums! I was curious about what his newer (2000 and up) stuff would sound like and it blew me away! I'm a HUGE NIN fan and feel silly that I barely knew Gary at all. Actually that's an understatement. I knew 2 songs of his and didn't even know his name until 2 days ago!!!!!

I'm back listening to this again - there's still nothing out there to match this man's style and presence.

Been a fan since 79, Gary just keeps producing the best stuff. Love it and as said here elsewhere it's a shame that real creators like him rarely get a mention on TV or radio. The man's a national treasure.
