Gary Moore - Hiroshima Lyrics

They still remember
The day when Little Boy dropped from his womb.
They still remember
How their homes became their children's tombs.
Their suffer mourn each soul who died that August morning
Why don't we listen, why don't we need the warning?

Hiroshima
The place where innocence was burned.
Hiroshima
The memory makes my stomach turn.
Hiroshima
The world should truly feel the shame.
Hiroshima
The place where facing death became the way of life.

So many children have been born
Who cannot read or write.
They cannot speak
They cannot hear and some have lost their sight.
Adults with infant minds don't know the reason why.
For they were in their mothers' wombs
When death fell from the sky.

Hiroshima
The place where innocence was burned.
Hiroshima
The memory makes my stomach turn.
Hiroshima
The world should truly feel the shame.
Hiroshima
The place where facing death became the way of life.

The rest of us should learn a lesson from their sorrow
So we can stop it all happening tomorrow.

Hiroshima
The place where innocence was burned.
Hiroshima
The memory makes my stomach turn.
Hiroshima
The world should truly feel the shame.
Hiroshima
The West, the West must take the blame.

Hiroshima
The place where innocence was burned.
Hiroshima
The memory makes my stomach turn.
Hiroshima
Men came to shadows where they stood.
Hiroshima
This grain of evil brings no good.

No, no.
No, no, no, no, no.
No, no, no.

Beautiful song, strong lyrics and amazing voice and performance of this wonderful singer, guitar player, show man Gary Moore. Rest in peace!!!

So finally I get to know who the lead singer is - Charlie Huhn. It's not credited on the album and I've tried to find out. For a long tim I believed it is Ted Neeley, because it so typical him. You've probably heard him as Jesus in JC Superstar the movie. My friends have ridiculed me and alleged that it's Gary Moore singing, stupid bastards. Anyway - great singing!

  23. E.... ....

1:46 he sounded a bit like Halford, as Halford would come to sound 10 years later on Judas Priest's Painkiller album! :D Man, I really adored Gary... he is dearly missed.

  25. R.... J....

horrible this shit should'nt happen anymore.rest in peace.Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

    R.... J....

Japan did not want to finish the war so there was no other solution tho.

    R.... J....

Don't say there was no other solution. Japan was a beaten up country with no more resources to push with the war ( pretty much why they became so desperate to go all kamikaze with their planes) Also : "Based on a detailed investigation of all the facts and supported by the testimony of the surviving Japanese leaders involved, it is the Survey's opinion that certainly prior to 31 December 1945 and in all probability prior to 1 November 1945 [the date of the planned American invasion], Japan would have surrendered even if the atomic bombs had not been dropped, even if Russia had not entered the war, and even if no invasion had been planned or contemplated."

  26. u.... m....

Notice, how Kirk Hammett has clearly stolen part of Gary's guitar solo here, for the Enter Sandman solo.

    u.... m....

    The bit at the end?

    u.... m....

Can't spot that straight off but perhaps Gary Moore is an influence on Kirk Hammett? They both have Irish blood in them too which could explain a similarity in style and attitude

    u.... m....

Ehh... Kirk paid a fortune to buy Gary's old Les Paul. The influence is pretty obvious without having to engage with Lamarckism.

    u.... m....

Yup, at 3:00 sounded like kirk's solo

    u.... m....

@MegaJamil12 Also sounded like the end of Vivian Campbell's solo on Stand Up and Shout and many Akira Takasaki solo recordings.
