Gary Jules - Wichita Lyrics

The buffalo are out among the falling stars tonight
Shadows cross the kitchen in the afternoon
Daylight break on the hemisphere
I jumped in the water;
you left too soon.

Blood red sun, moon on the water
Everything is frozen north of Wichita
And the rails bear a dangerous cargo there
Through the latter days of dreamtime
And the screen door is busted
And the hours fall and wither away
Everything is frozen north of Wichita
I'm standing in this truck stop in Coeur D'Alene.

Yeah, I come from sad stories
Yeah, I come from lonely people too
Yeah, I come from California
Where God is green and the eyes are blue
Where God is green and the eyes are blue.

And the bird is flown already
Like the guns are drawn already

Blood red sun, moon on the water
Everything is frozen north of Wichita
And the rails bear a dangerous cargo there
Through the latter days of dreamtime
And the screen door is busted
And the hours fall and wither away
Everything is frozen north of Wichita
I'm standing here just waiting on my judgement day.

Buffalo are out among the falling stars tonight
Shadows cross the kitchen in the afternoon
Daylight break on the hemisphere
I jumped in the water;
You left too soon.

And the screen door is busted
And the hours fall and wither away
Everything is frozen north of Wichita
I'm standing in this truckstop in Coeur D'Alene
Everything is frozen north of Wichita
I'm standing in this truckstop in Couer D'Alene.

    thank you

  2. j.... s....

This is the only song I like by Gary Jules

  3. x.... ....

gary jules s best for me ;)

  4. E.... V....

I don't understand why someone should put thumb down for a song like this one :\

  5. G.... ....

when my wife passed away I played his album and yeah, 3/4 of the people left after about 30 minutes or so at the end of the wake but those that knew good music like she did stuck around to listen and those that did I am still close to. Just goes to show authentic people are attracted to good music and good music is attractive to authentic people.

    G.... ....

I'm sorry to read that your wife passed. I hope you've found acceptance and have made the strides to move passed this tragedy.

  6. F.... R....

I don't get why this guy's gotten so many negative votes... he's kinda right, guys. Don't you know how hard it is to become a famous musician these days? It's -hard- to get started.

  7. F.... R....

Heheheh... I laughed waaaayyy too hard at "Jonas Fuckers"...
This guy is amazing. Mad World isn't even his best song. Don't get me wrong, it's a damn good song, but this one is beautiful.

  8. T.... B....

Hi everyone! My name is Tomas Batista, I'm a songwriter from Argentina and I'm presenting my first LP called Claroscuro. You can listen the tracks in bandcamp, Lastfm, or my own Youtube Channel, or search for Tomas Batista - Memories of both.
Thank you for supporting the independent music!
    Regards!

  9. 9.... ....

i am so disappointed that comments on this videos reached a level where capital letters and flaming dominate.

  10. b.... ....

it takes the people to help him get out there. who is his producer? where does he play? go buy his cd. go buy a ticket to his show. show support and at some point if you get your kids to hear this and get them to understand that this is the stuff they should want playing loudly in their room then it'll happen. you got to teach your kids to not want flashy, spoonfed pop. sadly, i think it'll be a while. but you are are on the right track. :)

  11. A.... K....

MMMmmmmmm Deep and Wonderfull to my Mind ^^

  12. A.... ....

"Hope you enjoy it."???? I freaking love it!!

  13. 9.... ....

Dear people, please don't refer to other so called artists' failures if you're here to listen to good music. Caps lock does not make you look smart either and quality of music is not defined by its views and likes/dislikes. I am disappointed that even the ones listening to music that is not controlled by the media cannot just enjoy it and talk about in an appropriate way. I'm not here to defend any of those mentioned above. I just don't want to read their names on every music video i like -.-

  14. x.... ....

Also, the buffalo hint Kansas. ^.^

  15. x.... ....

Woo hoo! A song about my city. I love him even more now. :]

  16. O.... ....

And you probably lost a little more writing that you were writing the comment, haha! ;)

  17. o.... ....

Doesn't really matter, both songs are beautiful and both bands are wonderful~

  18. D.... ....

why make him famous? so he gives the media a chance to corrupt his great music? i'll bet gary jules has no intentions of being the next big thing. just making great music

  19. J.... S....

Weird, I was thinking the exact same thing even before I saw your comment. The harmony definitely does remind me of them a tad

  20. z.... ....

anybody think the Mumford&Sons song sounds a bit familiar........
    -_-

  21. T.... T....

How does this song even have 1 dislike?

  22. s.... ....

his stuff is so mellow, it's so relaxing. he's talented!

  23. F.... ....

    favourite song of him!

  24. i.... ....

    My hometown (: ah

  25. C.... D....

@fionnmccueil Haha, don't think this song about good old Cd'A... If I had to guess I'd say it's about Wichita, Kansas.

  26. D.... K....

I am so devoted to the vibe he and his singing partner pull together in this type of song; a real keeper.

  27. f.... ....

    @Gearskid2012 - Coeur d'Alene, Idaho?!? :)

  28. S.... Q....

i just love this one soooo much .....

  29. Z.... D....

wow i cant believe someone actually made a song about my hometown! i love it!
