According to German Rolling Stone magazine Gary broke his right hand (kind of boxer fracture, whatever happened) and doubted seriously whether he could play his guitar like he used to. Nevertheless he wrote the "Dirty Dishes Blues" and played it by picking his guitar like a banjo with his thumb and only two fingers, and that's why he sounded like his idol Hound Dog Taylor. Same old blues, love it!
