Hands down in my opinion, thr most humble, gospel centered worship singer/musician. So non mainstream, and deep lyrics. My son who is 7 knows this song almost by heart 🙌..Everytime I put it on, he comes running into the room and starts singing 🤘....

I love this song but one thing I don't understand and wish someone would explain for me is, what do these particular lyrics mean: "to see you and say goodbye". Why say goodbye? It's not directed to God, is it?

This is an interpersonal song. I think most Christians experience pain, fear, anxiety about those who are not saved, and who have no hope. Loved ones, children, parents, friends and there is a "last time" we will see ever see them.
This song is about people who are lost, who are close to us.

Maybe we've both believed in the past, one has fallen away. They are no longer on the same path.

It's now or never for this person. They are at the end. If there is no hope, they are truly saying goodbye. We will never see one another again, I'm here to see them one more time.

I loved my ex (a lot), but she broke the trust in the relationship.

It was really hard to let her go, but I had to. This realization came when I was on a long term stay in Hawaii, 4000 miles away from home.

I remember listening to this on the way back, and it just completely fit where my head was at.. flying back to say goodbye to her.
