Gallagher, Rory - Loose Talk Lyrics

Loose talk from up-tight people,
Looking out for blood to draw.
Just keep cool, don't let it phase you,
All that stuff ain't worth a straw.

Tight talk from stay-put people,
Aimed to hurt, aimed to wound.
Step on your toes, step on your fingers,
Just don't take it, now don't be fooled.

Don't let them know where you're going,
Don't play their games or they'll snow you in.
Call on me if they derail you,
Call on me 'cause I won't lock you in.

Yeah...

Don't let them know where you're going,
Don't play their games 'cause they'll snow you in.
Call on me if they derail you,
Stay with me 'cause I won't lock you in.
Yeah...

Double-talking, double-meaning
Tight-rope tactics to trip you up.
Don't play their games, go where your heart says,
Keep on pushing, you'll get there yet.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah

Lyrics...I could never quite make them out. Seems you got them right. Well done. This song, 'living like a trucker' and 'in your town' are three I associated with each other, from my Rory listening days. Not sure why. Something to do with their vibe/spirit, I guess. Forthright....once there was a Rory boot called Calling Hard (rather than Card). Spirit of live performances, Deuce etc.

Saw Rory several times back in the early 70s & he was one those rare breeds who never compromised his music for fame & money. A huge influence on us players that grew up in that exciting time of musical giants. Nice picture of Rory playing a Gibson which he was not playing much in those days as he stated in an interview he didn't really like the positions of the tone & volume knobs which he used a lot. Great share on this one, much thanks Stasha..
