I think of Laurie Anderson, and of seeing her in Albany soon after Lou Reed had passed on. She was previewing her film and telling stories. I was in awe of her ability to be there and carry on, while still so tender and vulnerable. I remember every minute of that performance, and hearing this song, well it stops me in my tracks, it makes my throat tighten, it makes me think of how much I love my husband but always it makes me think of one specific thing from that night, I glanced at her wrist, she was wearing two watches, one was a man's. I think it was his. I really do.

I don't think that you can be too young to get Peter. I personally listen to his music as long as I can think, always loving it. Saw him live when I was 11 (felt like being the youngest in the hall^^). Now I'm 18 years old - so you still may consider me young but my passion for Peter's music didn't fade. He's my all time favourite. But you are right up to the extend that most people of my generation won't listen to this as music changed dramatically over the last 20 years...

I have had the pleasure of hearing both Lou and Peter perform this song live. Two distinct styles, but one beautiful and haunting song which touches the very soul.
