Still my favorite song

A few weeks ago I quit my job, packed my stuff, bought a train ticket and just left. I drove and drove and kept seeing places until I reached the ocean. I was depressed and alone and overwhelmed with my life. I was high and this song came on next on my playlist. I thought that life was playing jokes on me listening to the lyrics and realizing that it’s describing my current life in every single way that’s possible. Ever since, I’m addicted to this song.

Future Islands - A dream of you and me

I’ve been lucky enough to go to a lot of awesome shows, but seeing Future Islands and Dan Deacon open as the surprise guests for my favorite Baltimore band Double Dagger’s final show is something I still think about almost every day even 7 years later. It’s lame but sometimes I cry because I love Baltimore so much and I can’t believe I was born here and get to live here and have been able to see all these things and make my own things and become a part of the community. It’s just so fuckin wild
