Funkadelic - Wars Of Armageddon Lyrics

[spoken:]
I gotta go to work
What kind of shit is this
Keep that goddamn kid from crying
God damn it

When do we want freedom?
Now!
What do we want?
Freedom!
When do we want it?
Now!
Freedom!
Now!
Freedom!
Now!

Flight 101...

Ooh-oop a dooh
Oh yeah?

Right on
Right the
Right on brother

Right on, brother

More power to the people
More power to the people
More pussy to the power
More pussy to the people
More power to the pussy
More pussy to the power
Power to the pussy!

More peter to the eater
More power to the pussy
More pussy to the power
Right on, right on!
More power to the pussy
More pussy to the power
More power to the peter
More peter to the pussy
Right on!

God damn!
Look at that pollution!
It's a fat funky person

This is Flea's favorite album! ( I read some where on the intra nets)

  53. c.... ....

    More power to the pussy!

  54. w.... ....

I just realized after reading comments for the last 10 minutes..that's some of you may be right...and some of you may be wrong...what matters is this music is kool enough to bring comments about this band in 2013 just like pink floyd.boom.

  55. s.... ....

A soundtrack of all the carnage going on in the world today! This was recorded the year I was born 1971 but I declare it sounds just like the chaos going on in the world today.

    pass me another brew....

  56. N.... ....

i funk with this jam. the undubed mix was released on a recent funkadelic compilation called toys. just the music. this is very jazz fusion but this is prolly my night cap off the maggot brain album. i like every song on it.

"I have a fever. And the prescription is more cowbell." I think this is Flea's fav album. I might be mistaken...

    a.... m....

art mack*fuck flea..you want to hear who they ripped off for their sound listen to Gang Of Four, the album is called "Entertainment"...as far as rhcp goes, anything after mothers milk sucked balls..much better music out there to hear

  60. B.... ....

This is historic bellwether music that needs no cowing.

  61. A.... ....

No, I'm just saying that it isn't before Pink Floyd, which he stated it was. I love Wars of Armageddon no matter when it was recorded. It is a truly timeless track - the whole album is in fact.

  62. T.... M....

i first heard this when i was amazed. i listened to this while High.... OMG it definitely took me somewhere

  63. A.... ....

Pink Floyd debuted in 1967. This was released in 1971

  64. A.... ....

    Pussy to the people!

  65. R.... A....

All I can say about this song is that they are playing their asses off Plainfield funk on

  66. c.... ....

Everybody's wankin' on "Maggot Brain" but this one's goin' deeper, especially on stormy weather with wind, thunder and all the stuff !

  67. s.... ....

Says who? I had this conversation almost twenty years ago with Billy Nelson.
True there is no "product" out there with the name Funkadelics out there, but that's what they used to call themselves to distinguish themselves as the backing band, separate from the singers.

  68. W.... ....

"Funkadelic" has always been singular and not plural.

  69. j.... a....

    OOH POO PAH DOO!

  70. s.... ....

The Parliaments were the 5 singers and their backing band were the Funkadelics. That's why you only see the players names on the first LP. The singers, by name, were all on a different contract. When the legal dispute happened, they thought they'd go with the Funkadelics name to avoid problems but then realized they could just drop the "s" and be Parliament, but chose to operate under 2 names. It's very confusing. You know they also released an LP on Invictus in 1970 under "Parliament". Osmium.

    s.... ....

    sex6cult9revolution wrong

    s.... ....

@Wilford Grimley actually hes right, you are an idiot

  71. j.... a....

    4:35
    UMPOOPADOO!

  72. L.... C....

    That groove hits hard!

  73. G.... ....

    needs more cowbell.

  74. G.... ....

they changed it because of a dispute. And couldnt use their old name "The Parliments" as a record label now owned the name to it. So they just started playing under the name Funkadelic after Nelson coined the term.

  75. G.... ....

except they started in plainfield, NJ and then relocated to detroit and changed the name of the band to funkadelic.

  76. B.... N....

Ramon 'Tiki' Fulwood, the funkiest drummer of all time...

  77. L.... G....

    VEEEEEEERY GOOD!

  78. d.... ....

ehhhhhh, parliament was around back then too doing alternative bubble gum pop and barber shop, even back then they had the "funk" as this was when a group of three or more people wore matching outfits. when asked where there outfits or costumes where they just went into the dressing room and put some wild shit on......there so epic i havent heard this strack before.

  79. C.... W....

71, 72.. same same.. ;-) actually I found out It's not where they got their name from.. apparently they wanted a name with "del" in it because that was groovy in Detroit at the time... In retrospect it kind of makes perfect sense though. whatever... this is all academic, which is one thing they are not.. hehe.. let's just enjoy and funk with it! peace!

  80. S.... S....

1971 my dude! RIGHT ON tho!!!

  81. c.... ....

My reply was a general statement covering the argument that was going on at that time in the comments on this video about whether Pink Floyd or Funkadelic launched the psychedelic music genre. Obviously, it had been around longer than either of those two bands.

You will hear no argument from me about Funkadelic owning the funk genre. Clinton is THE SHIT. Badass mother! I'm taking NOTHING away from them/him. Genius.

  82. s.... ....

check out the badass horn solo @7:37. Woof!

  83. b.... ....

    not quite right

  84. L.... D....

You DON'T want the crazy effects?? Why not!?!?

  85. S.... ....

Tiki Fullwood's amazing drum tracks are just legendary!

  86. T.... ....

    Bunch of old people here.

  87. G.... ....

Yeah somehow I don't buy that.
It is more likely that they put funk and psychedelic together specially since funkadelic is a trippy as fuck the psychedelicness of them is more important than to have 'del' in their name like other black bands!

  88. l.... ....

no soy musico ni conosco mucho de notas corcheas ni semicorcheas... pero estos tipos se pasan!!

  89. C.... W....

ok, i stand corrected.. but didn't someone else already correct me?

  90. f.... ....

You have stated two mistakes. This was released in 1971, but was being recorded in 1970. The name Funkadelic has nothing to do with psychedelic rock according to Billy Bass Nelson. He thought up the name and they wanted the word "Del" in it, like most of the black bands in Motown: Dells, Delfonics, etc. I've known this band since 1968. ;-)

    f.... ....

    I don' t believe you.

    f.... ....

funkedbyinjection that does'doesn't make any sense, honestly. Funkadelic definitely comes from psychedelic funk, in which they were taking loads of lsd and experimenting. Read george's autobiography

  91. B.... ....

Sounds a bit like Miles Davis these rythms and tunes

  92. N.... J....

    fuck detroit

  93. 1.... .....

thats all i mean-not being 'precise' but understanding the flow of what i am saying...bet!!

  94. 1.... .....

well home biscuit dog cat .alan worked at abbey road..but was not with floyd yet...this album was an innovation in itself-thats the point-there were others along the way...but Detroit may not do everything first-but that dayum traffic light you " MUST OBEY EACH DAY" and automobile you drive(if you even know how) if it were not for Detroit you would not be so fortunate..home doggy dog biscuit=dark side was released 1973(1972)so still 1 year & some months prior to M.Brain..if you can count..

  95. J.... J....

Actually that is wrong. Pink Floyd had put out 6 albums by the time this had come out. Alan Parsons had worked at Abbey Road Studios since 1967 and got his first musical credit on the Abbey Road album by The Beatles. This album came out in 1971. Sorry. Detroit don't do everything first, yo my home dog.

  96. F.... ....

Not Pre-Pink Floyd. But I dig where you are coming from. :)

  97. G.... ....

before i came here i was kinda sad bud after a while listnening to this song you gat kinda stoned and happy amazing!!

  98. G.... ....

sounds like they made a real big party in the stuio and recordet it

  99. f.... ....

I know the album "toys" has the instrumental version of this song but it's different, the riffs are weaker.

Anyone know where to find the instrumental version of the maggot brain album?
