Funkadelic - How Do Yeaw View You? Lyrics

Ah-ah
Say yeah, say yeah
How do you view you?
Can you see what's going down in you?
How do you view you?
Can you really relate to what we're programmed to do?
Say yeah, say yeah
Ever know someone that takes personal the rain?
Say yeah
Who sees a glass as half-empty rather than half-full
Ooh, la-da da-da da-da da-da dee da

How do you view you?
Oh, do thoughts of you make you high or shy?
How do you view you?
Wouldn't you rather fly than die?
Say yeah
Ever know someone that takes personal the rain?
Say yeah, say yeah, say yeah, say yeah
Who sees a glass as half-empty rather than half-full
Ooh, say yeah
Ever know someone that takes personal the rain?
Ooh-oh ooh-oh
Oh yeah, oh yeah

How do you view you?
Di-di di-di di-di di-di di-di do-do-do
Say yeah
Everybody say yeah
Ooh-oh ooh-oh

  12. S.... ....

Having heard that this song is possibly an outtake it would explain my feelings of the it sounding incomplete or the not finished product of what the artist were creating. Non the less this is def. one of my fav. P-funk songs and has been since I first heard it.

  13. M.... A....

I can hear Fuzzy singing with Gary. George wasn't picky in the studio. He used whoever showed up and was still awake lol

The accompanying album was one where it was mentioned that tracks could have been switched easily with Hardcore Jollies. For me I didn't see how, they sounded like two different albums to my ears. I felt there was more interchangeability between Standing On The Verge and Up For the Down Stroke's tracks.

  17. A.... W....

  31. C.... E....

    Bernie on some scary chit

  32. m.... ....

By far my favorite track on this uneven album. A rare Clinton-Collins-Worrell track on a Funkadelic album. George wrote the majority of classic Funkadelic tracks with Eddie hazel.

    m.... ....

+mrstep2me These were outtakes and tapes given to Westbound when Funkadelic left for Warner Brothers...thats why it's uneven...

    m.... ....

+duane smith I'm well aware of the history surrounding this album. Hardcore Jollies is uneven as well. The best tracks of both albums combined would have been another classic. A lot of material came out in the fall of 1976, when you add "Clones", and "Ah, The Name Is Bootsy Baby".

    m.... ....

Yea,but George was int the really stretching, and giving one out outtakes....like much thrust on all the woo in the world...was a Eddie Hazel track

    m.... ....

I've always read about this particular album being an uneven affair due to the group moving to Warner Bros. But truthfully it was actually one of my fav albums by Funkadelic. The title track was one of their most esoteric recordings I admit, and that's saying a lot. But it didn't diminish the power of the other tracks one bit.

    m.... ....

    @mrstep2me Glory Day's of P-Funk🔥🚀⭐^⭐or⭐*⭐

  33. M.... ....

What about those people who take personal the rain?

    M.... ....

+Muggz334 George and friends are suggesting you not to become one of those who does...

    M.... ....

Muggz334 the Creator knows I love the rain so when it rains I take it personal

    M.... ....

    AquaBoogie BABY!

  34. S.... ....

Yes thats George. If in doubt listening to his solo records.

  35. S.... U....

If you REALLY know PFunk you would know that that's George singing the lead.

  37. k.... F....

ever know someone who takes personal the rain 🌎

  38. O.... H....

When George Clinton ain't clowning around and hollerin' funnin' off he actually has one of the most beautiful and unique voice I've heard and I've heard some beautiful voice regardless of gender and if you was baptized in P-Funk like I was you would know this is George Clinton on lead vocals Jack!!!!

    O.... H....

i agree and no doubt it's george

    O.... H....

@Ston Sounds just like Bernie's RMI Electra-Piano he'd been using since '71 or so.

    O.... H....

@Donald Ronson I met personally Bernie in a studio back in 1981 before Stop Making Sense. He used his Moog and a D6 Clavinet with a phase 100 and the house Rhodes. He didn't bring his ARP Strings though. The bass player popped a string. Bernie took over on Moog bass. Nobody missed the bass guitar.

    O.... H....

    Not no more

    O.... H....

    How rt cha r

  39. T.... ....

Yo, now in the onslaught, y'all n****s got caught. Now we can run a full court all in a bloodsport. And while we hold the fort, cut ya like live shorts. Feel the pressure burn a n***a like a newport!

  40. m.... ....

Can you really relate to what we're programmed to do?
    Say "yeah", say "yeah".

  41. L.... T....

Forget about "The Man In The Mirror." This is the truest you you will ever know. This is your chance to be for real with yourself, within your own sub-conscious wanderings and lusts; hopes and dreams; desires for eternity and peace, and so on. SO, how do you view you? I see me and I know who I am: I am who I am.

    L.... T....

no! its I YAM WHAT I YAM AND THATS ALL THAT I YAM!!...now wheres me spinach?

Riding down I 85 in my 1987 Ford Escort GT With the hatch opened and the volume up. "Ever known someone to take personal the rain". To think that anything bad happening is directed at yeaw.

  44. J.... D....

Yes, it's mos def George on lead vocals.

    J.... D....

    George and Glen sound similar.

    J.... D....

+Nasher188 Gary and Glen sound similar.  George is George.

    J.... D....

+Pay Attention sorry I never heard where Glen and garry sound similar

    J.... D....

Garry comes in a little later, but that is most definitely George Clinton who starts this song off and sings lead through most of it. Also that IS NOT Garry Shider on The Goose or All Your Goodies Are Gone. That is George Clinton as well.

    J.... D....

Nasher188 your way off on your facts, George is singin lead on this and all your goodies are gone

  45. S.... M....

Eddie! Eddie!   OMG  HE IS KILLIN IT  @2:45  OMG

    S.... M....

+Chris Edwards or mike I heard both

    S.... M....

Sounds like Eddie to me. the approach but that's my opinion. TTYL

    S.... M....

+Steven Majorsno its not eddie but yeah mike and shider been known to emulate him at times it wouldn't shock me if eddie up with the riffs Edie wrote a lot if the guitar riffs that mike, Garry, and Ron bykowski used when he wasn't around but members of the mob told me this wasn't eddie on here I think its tiki on drums I used to think it was bigfoot

    S.... M....

Steven Majors Is Michael "KID FUNKADELIC" Hampton

  46. T.... K....

To take personal the rain is a really funkin clever line talking about someone who takes rain falling from the sky personally really fuckin i mean funkin awsesome!

  47. D.... D....

    You go Patricia!

  48. M.... C....

Glenn Goins was the lead singer on Bop Gun, Sexy Body & Smokey. Garry Shider led on Cosmic Slop. George sang lead on One Nation and this song right here. None of those voices even sound the same, so I don't see how there's any debate.

    M.... C....

    True 🤘

  49. n.... ....

what does it mean to take personal the rain?

  50. D.... ....

    Absolultely! You tell 'em Benji.

  51. b.... j....

it amazes me when people get there facts wrong and speak like it's gospel nasher188 does not know what they're talking about this is indeed George Clinton on lead vocals steven major is exactly right!!!

    b.... j....

    beni jacobs fact

    b.... j....

Can’t you just enjoy the music? So many of them are gone or partially incapacitated. Itnisnt really a debate.

  52. S.... M....

Yes indeed...that's George leading. Any die hard P-Funk fan knows this!!!

  53. S.... M....

Say Yeah!! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!!

  54. a.... o....

153 people like what they view.

  55. D.... ....

I truly wish this song could have been longer on this album. I mean this is one Funkadelic song that deserved to have been longer just like other Funkadelic songs they released. I bought this album not long after it 1st came out and still treasure it to this very day.

  56. r.... ....

    this guy is fit

  57. 6.... ....

To really know for sure who did what at United Sound studio, you will have had to be there, and then truly remember every day of recording. No logs saying who did what and when, then its just a guessing game.

    6.... ....

6402680 what? All u have to do is listen, thats clearly Geore singin lead and if u cant tell then u dont know much about the Parliafunkadelicment thang

  58. S.... S....

Bootsy is right! This is one of my favorite bass lines Moe. There's no other like it. And there's only one Bootsy. Yep!

  59. S.... M....

    As listed on the LP

    How Do Yeaw View You?
    {G Clinton, W Collins, B Worrell} 3:40 lyrics

I say the lead is William Bootsy Collins.

    S.... M....

Bootsy aint singin on this one, George is

  60. P.... W....

EXCUSE ME..BUT THAT IS NONE OTHER THAN GEORGE CLINTON LEADING THIS SONG...GEORGE IS EXTREMELY VERSATILE WITH HIS VOICE--HE SINGS FALSETTO--TO BASS . THAT IS NOT GARY..SORRY--BUT THAT IS DEFINITELY GEORGE.... HOW'S THIS--GEORGE IS VERY GOOD FRIEND OF A PRODUCER FRIEND OF MINE--HOW ABOUT THE NEXT TIME GEORGE IS IN PHILLY--THEY CAN CALL ME AND I WILL ASK HIM AND HE WILL SAY THE SAME THING THAT I AM TELLING YOU/.

  61. S.... M....

Ok, I'm not going to argue about it, but I know what I know. George is leading this song. Glenn Goins is singing "Bop Gun" and "Sexy Body". When they recorded "Cosmic Slop" George told Garry to sing like Curtis Mayfield..and Garry did. Garry's voice is somewhat like Bobby Womack at times. Listen to "I Owe You SOmething Good" (the original version) and listen to "I Miss My BabY".......i'm done with this...

    S.... M....

Steven Majors youre right! Nasher188 doesnt know what hes talkin about, hes all over youtube speadin those lies and its startin to piss me off, as much as i love Garry (rip) its not him singin lead on this or one nation (album version), or all your goodies are gone (from the up for the downstroke lp)

  62. S.... ....

Nope. George has a more powerful voice and a high falsetto (Bop Gun, Sexy Body, Smokey). Gary Shider has the smooth crooner voice (Cosmic Slop, How do you view You, One Nation). Been to most of their concerts since the 70's. I actually met them.

    S.... ....

    Nasher188 wrong

  63. S.... M....

That's not Garry leading.. That's George Clinton singnig the lead here. Garry's voice is one of the "say yeah" ......and some ad libs of course...but George is leading! Same lead vocalist on "One Nation Under A Groove".

    S.... M....

Steven Majors exactly, for some reason that nasher dude is all over youtube on different songs saying George's parts are Garry's, i dont like when people spread false info

  64. m.... ....

I agree Seldom Seen. I got one word for you BOOTSY!

  65. W.... K....

Yeah, white people are always stunned. As far as I can tell, white people are never into weird shit like classical music and outlandish outfits. Nice Story

  66. E.... ....

    P. Funk has been my favorite group since 1975. Wow, that's so cool.

  67. S.... ....

Gary's beautifully creepy vocals on this jam. Big ups Gary (RIP).

    S.... ....

    Nasher188 George's vocals

  68. d.... ....

this music is what i imagine would be playing if there was an african opium den.

  69. R.... B....

snorting coke at 07:00 viva la funk

  70. d.... m....

to supreme197 i totally envy the fact that you had the pleasure of breathing the same air as Bernie. and what some people dont realize is that Bernie was a child prodigy and has been playing classical since birth damnnnear. the cat is amazing and keep the funk alive fam peace and love

  71. P.... ....

unbelievable song. when Bernie, Bootsy and George collab on a track it's pure magic

  72. S.... S....

Wait, quiet everyone. Listen. Hear that? Da bass bro got a grove kick happening. ... Say yeah!

  73. G.... W....

@197supreme LOL!! I can imagine looking at their faces...:)))

  74. p.... ....

Some sort of eeerrrieee mutated soul gem ,from the mines that are Funkadelic.
and ya know I love it

    Thanks for posting

  75. I.... F....

Man, its so good to my earhole!

  76. M.... ....

One of my top 5 funkadelic songs. It's up there with Knee Deep, I'll Stay and Cosmic Slop! I love this damn song!

  77. 6.... ....

When George, Garry, Bernie and the rest really vibed, the result was other-worldly.....R.I.P. Garry "Starchild" Shider.

  78. C.... E....

    @Kaejae75 Ain't it though???
That's what makes tha Funk what it is today...REAL!!!

  79. C.... E....

@Fee76Lawlus I feel the same exact way!!!
It's like takin' a joyride thru your imagination
and never wantin' it to end--just keepin' the
    CD on Repeat.

  80. C.... E....

    @homicidelab I definitely agree!!!
This album takes off the wall greatness
    to a whole notha level,
and this track is one of my all-time favorites.

  81. D.... M....

still the shit. for about 34 years and counting.

  82. d.... b....

love this joint.......also samlpled by black moon on "the onslaught"

  83. u.... ....

@1137rr I agree...B-sides often show the artist's true colors....so to speak.Found a whole lot of gems listening to what was considered throw-aways (i.e. this tune)...but you hit it on the head....

  84. F.... ....

Everytime I listen to Funkadelic, it takes me to another place. Aided by the album cover art. And enhanced by the Green.;-) What more can I say.

  85. s.... ....

One of my favorite songs of All-Time it reminds me of my Dad who was a big time p-funk fan!

  86. F.... ....

Just a awsome mix of funk and reggae. Very creative. I love the side B music. I'm not sure that artist have a side B anymore. Side B is a chance for a artist to make music unrestricted. Not the pop song designed to sell to the masses. But a cool crative somg like this. I can't even describe this song. I say "funk/reggae. But its more then that. Its very complex.

  87. u.... ....

    3:05-3:17: Black Moon "Onslaught"

    u.... ....

Found that out in 99... when the black moon album dropped.. but props to real hip hop heads

  88. K.... J....

I think the breakdown at 2:25 is funky as hell!

  89. f.... ....

Thank You Thank You Thank You for posting this. Its one of my favs and now its easy to share. Big ups!

  90. P.... ....

    say yeah!
