Funkadelic - Comin' Round The Mountain Lyrics
Comin' around the mountain when she comes
Ridin' two white horses when she comes
Comin' around the mountain when she comes
Get out on the dancefloor when she comes
[x2]
Doin' it!
Because we like it
Doin' it!
Just for fun
[x2]
Comin' around the mountain when she comes
Ridin' two white horses when she comes
Comin' around the mountain when she comes
Get out on the dancefloor when she comes
Doin' it!
Because we like it
Doin' it!
Just for fun
[x2]
Comin' around the mountain when she comes
Ridin' two white horses when she comes
Comin' around the mountain when she comes
Get out on the dancefloor when she comes
Comin' around the mountain when she comes
Ridin' two white horses when she comes
Comin' around the mountain when she comes
Ridin' two white horses when she comes
Doin' it!
Because we like it
Doin' it!
Just for fun

Pure funk
EDDIE MOGGOT BRAIN HAZEL ON GUITAR!
Buddy Miles on The Drum Kit! From Blewfoot....
I think this is the first Parliament Funkadelic song I loved as a kid. My love for P-Funk4life started with this jam.
DAMN MY QUESTION WHEN!(🤔)
What a great name ..Hardcore jollies. These brothers didn't get the recognition they deserved as the baddest band around, among many other great one's.
Just because of the freedom they displayed in their dress etc. The way they played, no other groups would go that far. But that's exactly what made them great, to have the ball to do it all, and be freaking good at it.
Part of the midnight funk association Detroit Eastside 1976 till now!! We still funking them up with the Bop gun.
Too bad sound quality
Comin round the mountains with bootsys bass play Player of the year
Love you funkadelic for being my high
Only the best band ever hands down. .
..............
p-funk y'all!
This is the main funfadelic jam that got me hooked to P-Funk back in the day when I was like 11 yrs old. Kids nowadays ..... Free your mind and your ass WILL follow
Classic music from the creative mind of George Clinton.
Burned up a lot of brain cells on this on back in High School.
the vocals on this track always remind me of a Sly Stone type of feel
Every Friday and Saturday night its a must i play this lloud it takes me into outterspace oooooweeeeeeeee!
Jam masters
The first time I heard this I must have been about 11 yrs old. Going through my older brother's albums I discovered this as a very young aspiring child musician. This is some "Nasty ish" right here! Hits me hard like the first time I heard it!
THE BADDEST BAND IN ALL THE LAND!! LOVES GLENN GOINES,- HE WAS IN A CLASS ALL BY HIMSELF!!! GONE TOO SOON. JUST TOO SOON!!!
I shouldn't have been surprised that Eddie Hazel played the lead guitar on this track instead of Michael Hampton as the credits state on the album.
The bestest band
Always liked this jam, Guitar is the bomb, but I really like what they're talking about dough.
The 4 Horsemen of Funk/Rock Eddie Hazel Gary Shider,Michael Hampton and Glen Goins....and Vocals too...! Take it away Eddie "Maggot Brain" Hazel to close it out....! #SIPGaryEddie...!
My best babd
I had EVERY ALBUM! LOVE THIS ONE!
Whites missed out on some of the nastiest, wickedest guitar riffs ever Parliament had good rhytym guitar licks thank you Gary shider
of course they did!
Interesting sure sounds like Buddy Miles now that you mention it. This is the Funkadelic guitar sound. You really shouldn't aouta fight it.
George Clinton was an INOVATOR just like James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, Jazzy B of Soul II Soul.
Get on the dance floor when she come
The Funkadelics was the baddest band alive or dead!! All of them should have been filthy rich!!George Clinton was the master mind of all genres of music. All those white composers and song witters could not match his intellectual mind of thought and his concept of how a note is suppose to flow. I prat that this brother wins his lawsuit against the record company that stole the rights to his music. I pray that at least one Black musician finally receives the rights to their music!!
On the note of white song writers, Frank Zappa is one insane, creative son of a bitch
All in unison.. Aaaaaaaaminnnnnn!
Zho♏👑
George should have keep his business clean and his mind straight.
@Paula1 George signed the rights to everybody publishing he blame the drugs so I guess the drugs made him forge other hand members names
Point blank....Cat's can play.......ain't nuthin' like a Parliament - Funkadelic Thang............
Hey Spotify, why don't you stream this album? Great album. Uncle Jam Wants You is needed too.
One nation under a groove needs to be there too!!
💀💀💀💀Danny u never allow 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸anyone to question yo funk, those who know known.⭐⭐⭐
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ! no words. GIDDY UP !
Coming around the mountain by Funkadelic some real hardcore rock and roll funk
The year was 1976; I was 14 years old....my music world would be changed forever, when my oldest brother bought Funkadelic's "Hardcore Jollies" home one day, and blasted it in the house. I was hooked. I'd never heard anything like it before or since.
This is a HARDCORE jam session right here! Mr. GC you were(and still are) an absolute genius!
Who couldn't like this
Them babies don't know nothing about this P FUNK
Yea, this joint badd. But check out "AIN'T NO USE" by THE METERS
Brian Tysonr ncf hnp .... not many know about that New Orleans FUNK! Yes indeed! Ain’t no use, cut you loose! I wouldn’t last a day!
This is one of the best albums ever!
Smoke some good weed and u can play this shit....lol....funkrock!!!
Comin' Round the Mountain - Funkadelic
Comin' Round the Mountain - Funkadelic
The guitar solo is a top-ten-mind-warping-of-all-time solos.
No...top 5
BrainPolice5 isn't it tho
EDDIE HAZEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An iconic solo by Eddie Hazel. He was also an excellent rhythm guitarist.
A spiritual classic.
one of the best p-funk jams ever (yet mixed terribly). ain't no thang...
Justin Dutton I would think it HAD to be done on purpose ... this 1976 we are talking, way different sound systems, so maybe it sounded different with that stuff...just a guess? Who knows, maybe they spilled a drink on the control table..who knows!?
Love the LP and this cut. Had it on 8 track. Cruising Hay St. in Fayetteville NC. Love the guitar solo.
Blew my mind the first time I heard this album and still blows my mind today 🤘
The great debate, who's playing lead? I still say Eddie. But can't go wrong, whoever, smoked the shit out of it
Its Eddie & he get credit by using an alias G. Cook (Its his Mother's name) so Anytime you see G. Cook , it's Eddie Hazel doing his Thang
Funk On Bubba 🎸
Type "Eddie Hazel - No, It's Not" in the search bar, the truth was published years after Eddie's death. the track is a transposed mix.
Mike kid Funkadelic Hampton on lead
@Frederick Jones no it's not lol. Mike is awesome too though.
@JanVanGalen the reason why I thought it was kid Funkadelic I seen him playing it on stage at one of their concerts I guess he took up when Eddie left off the guitar Army
that guitarring is the best kind of nasty.
Chilis brought me here. I can't help but grin listening to this song. You can tell just how much of a love funkadelic had for music :)
if Bruno wanna funk aroubd with the gods like prince and GC, jb. sly, him and his generation better step yo their funk game they better try lsd
Bass in hand mode, thumping the mountain too death.
CARL JAMES SECOND THAT MOTION AND EMOTION
George took all the foot out of this recording. What you are hearing is buddy miles without the foot. DAMN
What a jam! 👍
Joe Joe
Was it just me or did the banjo player turn One Nation under a groove out i heard it ,i heard it. and it wasn't the space bass !
Oh that's a banjo fo real brother I hear it too so I used one in my funk too hahah! for years and years now and your the only person I've heard speak on it !!! :^)
Those cymbals, fuck
The last 3 minutes of the track never fails to amaze me. It's like being absorbed into a psychadelic vortex and then being spit of it when it fade outs. One of best the Funkadelic tracks IMO!
That's what it sounds like when the let Eddie fly the Mothership.
Buddy Miles played drums on this; Tiki on "Soulmate"; and Jerome Bailey on the rest of Hardcore Jollies". Jimi Calhoun on bass; Billy Nelson on "Soulmate"; and the rest was Bootsy and Boogie Moonson.
George used lots of players Eddie, Billy, and tiki was not credited for hardcore jollies
jimy0803 You know to me this group right here Funkadelic was better than Parliament music wise even though there the same group...
I enjoyed their music better.....
They were the real and best musicians I had ever heard, live...
All One.
parliament and funkadelic was like George and the group having multiple petsonalities
Chris Edwards I believe Eddie plays on Comin’ Round the Mountain and Hardcore Jollies. Both taken from his sessions that made up his solo album and the Jams from the Heart EP. He also sang the junkie melody in the background of Smokey. He was the shit
Jimmy Calhoun (Alumni Funkadelic is on bass) Buddy's kick drum was taken out of the mix by GC because it was too loud. If you really dig it search "No it's not" from Eddie Hazel's solo material its an extended instrumental of this song. I also posted a pic from this session on my Facebook Page!
I thought Billy Cox & Buddy was sitting in with Eddie on this jam? Hendrix's group!
+mmjaljs Billy Cox never played with p funk
33 dislikes whats going on ?. please somebody tell them that you must have ears to hear music. they just don`t have any. funkadelic is a unreal band and the music just keeps on keeping on.
C'mon, you know the internet is full of roaming trolls voting down anything close to black arts.
YEAH BOY!
You folks do realize that's Buddy Miles playing drums on this cut?
KIDSGOT WWWHHA!!
YESSIR! And he made it greasy!!!❤
Wait a minute, are you tryin' to say he put some... changes... on that track (yo, I couldn't help it man, I just couldn't help it)!!!
The Fat Man of funk/black-rock, may the Brother RIP.
RIP Bernie Worrell...
also Eddie, and buddy miles
MemphoWrasslin1
Luuuuuved my 2 dominant ARIES.. Eddie Hazel & Bernie Worrell!💓
Oh my God!
I'm in love!
In 1979, Hardcore Jollies and Santana's Inner Secrets were the two albums I really cut my teeth on. I had already learned a ton of stuff from Mandrill, Ohio Players, Jimmy Castor and Brothers Johnson. But these albums brought me closer to Rock.
No other black group was doing hard rock like funkadelic was sly never did hard rock mandrill comes close Ohio players did a little rock and roll but funkadelic was extreme
Mr. Edwards. Please stop harassing me. I know what I know. I lived in that era.
You're immaturity and egomania is becoming annoying. Why do feel the need to respond to everything I say about P-funk? Dude, practice your cool.
Besides, I didn't say the Ohio Players were playing rock.
neither 1 of u can play this, so stop ur bellyachin
This is the REAL "Comin' Round the Mountain"!
ask the axis
Buddy ripping shit, keeping it locked in.
yeah man, soo much variation in the guitar solo part and still holding the groove! that's true art
Quite simply one of the greatest bands of all time.
Comin' Round the Mountain - Funkadelic
Comin' Round the Mountain - Funkadelic
Beyond words. This is exquisite funk. Mad. Bad. Stupendous.
3:30 eddie just takes over...with the addition of the reverb! one of my favorite musicians besides jimi.
Are you sure that wasn't Hampton doing the solo work on that jam?
It should be illegal to dislike this jam.
Man I hope I never run into those 74 sorry ass mthrphkrs!
Damn! Another one popped up in the last two weeks! Up to 75! Like roaches!
...lot of Sir Noses trolling
it is illegal.
Funkadelic makes me feel like Jesus is alive and I'm not even religious.
Just the, SAME
This song makes me want to smoke dope...
Eddie Hazel...on that F#%@ AXE choppin shit like a serial killer!!!
Burn anything down..Funkadelic can't be touched, i read most of these comments, P-Funk
is in a Class ALL BY themselves,.... they are the F*&%@# Gap between Funk, Rock, R&B music the only other Band that comes close is the Isley Brothers...that's only because Jimi Hendrix played with them for a short while!
Other than that you cant F@% with these Niggas!!!
Black Falconsungodzz I been play Yes Fragile album
Mother's Finest don't forget them..............ever
You can't compare Earth Wind and Fire and Funkadelic because I couldn't play Funkadelic for the Old Folks At certain events Earth Wind and Fire you can play anytime I like playing Earth Wind & Fire as a teenager while I clean my room on Saturday morning or either War but when I hung out with the gang later on that night what's in a refrigerator
Black Falconsungodzz facts
I wish an actual band could play as good as Funkadelic. I mean, the sounds, the creativity, ...that's just magic.
Saw them 3 x's in the 80's, that is an actual band
Curtis Krumm Uber doses of LSD
Chad Cullen yes. Since First I fried with them in 1977.
Who can extract the funk out of C&W ? The Funkalics that's who .....
OH MY GOODNESS !! EDDIE HAZEL WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY EDDIE!!
There weren't any black bands doing this back in the day...these guys were pioneers...
The point I was making is, MOST people think this is ROCK when ALL the music came from BLUES guitar players later to be called R&B. ORIGINAL Country music originated from this source also. I have heard Ernie and I also am familiar from the source they draw from. Hendrix told the people he was a "Blues Guitarist"...
+jamminjerseygurl Ernie was cool but the islets never did hardcore like funkadelic dif
+jamminjerseygurl isleys never came close to nothing like free tour mind, red hot mama, and super stupid, and they never backmasked but yes Ernie was good and you can hear the jimi influence but funkadelic was doing hard rick islets never it took Ernie years to make a rock album
Because they make more money cussing women and being fake drug dealers
Um, P-Funk wasn't alone in funkatizing the planet: Isleys, Confunkshun, BarKays, Ohio Playas, Mandeill.....they were thriving at a time corporate radio and labes were gentrifying music by categories and race to protect sensitive snowflake white artists who couldn't hang wth P-FUnk, Mandrill and the other mentioned artists. With respect to punk, Funk bands are America's greatest rockers, and the labels couldn't have you diggin Hazel and Hampton when they were crafting the myth that Clapton was good and that rock belonged to whites.
Eddie recorded the sessions to hj and did his solo album at the same time george said the record label arranged for him to getnoutnof jail then eddie was sent back to jail after finishing both albums
EDDIE HAZEL....NUF SAID!!!
+Ronald Roberts You can't say eddie on this tune without saying Buddy miles
+Larry Williams listen to how Buddy locks it in
This is how Cream might have sounded like if they just had a tad more melination.
John Barrett SORRY BUT NEVER 🎸🎸🎼
who let the beast out.eddie was just on fire.
KNEW GLEN GOINS COULD PLAY BUTY THERE ARE NOT TOO MANY SONGS SPOTLIGHTING HIS GUITAR SKILLS MOST OF THE STUDIO GUITAR WORK WAS MAINLY GARRY ON RHYTYM SOMETIMES MIKE AND GLEN AND EVFEN CATFISH DID RHYTYM TOO BUT A P FUNK SESSION WAS TOO COMPLICATED YOU NEVER KNOW WHO DID WHAT THESE GUYS BARELY DID INTERVIEWS IT WOULD HAVE HELPED IF THEY DID MORE INTERVIEWS BACK THEN THEY COULD HAVE REWALLY CLEARED SOME OF THIS STUFF UP.
