Fugazi - Repeater Lyrics

You say I need a job,
I've got my own business
You want to know what i do?
None of your fucking business
But now I'm lying here
Knowing that business had a name,
But now I'm a number
1 2 3 repeater
Down by law, I've got this nasty habit
When I need something I reach out and grab it
Once upon a time I had a name and a way
But to you I'm nothing but a number
1 2 3 repeater
Did you hear something outside?
It sounded like a gun
Stay away from that window boy
It's not anyone we know
Only about ourselves and what we read in the paper
Don't you know ink washes out easier than blood
But we don't have to try it
And we don't have to buy it
Repeater

  2. M.... Y....

    I need this on vinyl

  3. T.... A....

wow, $5 shows, under age. skating the Brooklyn banks back home & the E_Z 7 here in H-Town. 87 & 88 were 2 of the best years in their own. thefy may say thosae were the days, but in a way for us these are the days, then came Lallapolooza! oh, & i can't forget Christian Death's lasat American tour w THE Rozz Williams, live @ The Axiom. that was in 88.

  4. A.... J....

I remember hearing this in Command and Conquer: Red Alert Retaliation. They obviously stole the guitar riff

    A.... J....

wow. do you actually listen to any old school punk! stole the riff? do you7 know how long Fugazi been around? how many people, as an homage, would play FUGAZI;s riffs & bass lines? like the Red Hots, the Beastie Boys and on on on, so when you say they obviously stole something (that came out in the 90's or so), i apologize but it sounds lie your talkjin out the side of your neck, homeboy. check out Minor Threat, Bad Brains (that will mess your dome nice like), Dag Nasfty.... these are all bands from 79 well into the late 80's. never heard of by most but now you'll find these guys on game soundtracks, indie films, commercials etc

    A.... J....

@Tyger Anthony i meant that the GAME stole the riff, dipshit. Calm down

  5. A.... K....

Does this remind anyone else of the sound of Primus's antipop album?

    A.... K....

A Kinz Bass and drums do come off very Primus like

  6. K.... D....

    this certainly holds up

  7. S.... G....

Hearing this song should be made mandatory for existence

  8. M.... L....

  10. B.... R....

Other than At The Drive In, who is gonna be the next crazy good band?

  11. B.... B....

This is the song I like on the album, the only I usually come back. I don't really think old post-hardcore didn't really sounded as heavy as I liked it to be.

  12. K.... J....

1.Steady diet of nothing 2.Repeater 3.Red Medicine 4. In on the kill taker 5. The argument...but I really love all albums by them

will mean nothing to people not in the uk)

  34. h.... ....

Anything from Dischord back then!!!  This song brought me back....

  35. H.... E....

    Good punk rock from 1888

    H.... E....

@***** I was referencing the AV Club botching up Fugazi's formation date, putting 1888 instead of 1988

    H.... E....

    Also Post-Hardcore

    H.... E....

Whatever improvisations Nietzsche was banging away at on the piano in his rented room, as he reached the brink of mental collapse, was probably the best punk rock from 1888.

    he is from roosterteeth

  50. e.... ....

    geoff sounds like a douche

  51. H.... ....

He's a guy from a web-content creation company called Rooster Teeth/Achievement Hunter. They play a game called Minecraft, which includes an item called a redstone repeater; everytime he has to place several of them in a row he sings the "1-2-3-repeater" section of this song. My assumption is that a lot of people have searched out what it was he was singing.

  52. H.... ....

I've been wondering what his little "doot doot doot- REPEATER!" song was for ages. Thank you for confirming my suspicion that it was this one, haha

  53. w.... ....

    25 people don't like ribena

  79. A.... ....

    This song is great.

  80. A.... B....

fugazi is post hardcore. its punk but not really in the traditional sense. go listen to:

    adolescents
    bad religion
    bad brains
    minor threat
    circle jerks
    dead kennedys
    descendents (first album)
    operation ivy
    t.s.o.l.

that will get you started :D

  81. m.... ....

Excuse us if it isn't a carbon copy of minor threat. If you don't like it, then do us all a favor and leave.

  82. A.... M....

This is great album, i'm sorry, but if you don't like this then you just don't get punk.

  83. b.... ....

So Minor Threat dissolved to this? It makes me wanna puke...

  84. E.... T....

If you read Youtube comments, you're going to have a bad time.

  85. d.... ....

i think their contract expired with whatever major label they were on and they are now on some indie label

  86. g.... ....

Haha!! I saw your comment at the right time. Now thats all I can hear!!

  87. M.... R....

    Grande...

  88. M.... B....

You're totally right! So, I'd say that Weezer play pop-rock reminiscent of the '80s and the '90s. I don't really know what "kind" of music bands like Interpol and Ok Go play... or Kings Of Leon and Bloc Party... Maybe I'm just going out of topic...

  89. Y.... ....

Why do people throw the term "indie" around like that? Weezer has a major record label, how are they indie?

  90. M.... B....

i will listen to it :)

  91. M.... B....

Maybe early Weezer are emo... now I think they're more indie rock

  92. A.... ....

When you say 'emo', unless you're talking about Rites of Spring
I don't want to hear about it, lol
