Freddie King - Yonder Wall Lyrics

Look over yonder wall
Hand me down my walking cane
Look over yonder wall, baby
Hand me down my walking cane
Because I'm looking out your window
And, baby, yonder come your man

I know your man been to Vietnam, baby
I know he had it kinda rough
I don't know how many mens he killed
But I think, I think he done killed enough
Look over yonder wall, woman
Hand me down my walking cane
Yes, I'm looking out your window
And baby, yonder come your man

I love you, baby
I just can't help myself
I wouldn't mistreat you, baby
Yes, for anyone else
But look over yonder wall, baby
Hand me down my walking cane
Yes, I'm looking out your window
And baby, yonder come your man

What a GREAT MAN born 30 miles down the road in Gilmer, Texas that not only shares my son's birthday but our former Texas Governor Ann Richards actually declared the exact day our son was born as "Freddie King Day" in Texas. A true inspiration like so MANY other Texas guitarists from Stevie Ray, Albert Collins, Larry Davis, Lightning Hopkins, Blind Willie Johnson, Billy Gibbons, W.C. Clark Charlie Christian (not in ANY particular order and many many more) to young Texas guitarists from the late 50's to even today!

Just a fabulous Muscle Shoals arrangement. Bass line is superb. And Freddie's no slouch either !
