The lead singer reminds me of Gilbert Sullivan a bit. Or possibly Albert Hammond. Or maybe Al Stewart. There’s a strong 70’s singer-songwriter vibe through this song...and it just works.

Brilliant video, love it especially because I'm from Glasgow and this along with the song captures a great atmosphere about the city. A great Glaswegian anthem, probably The Fratellis' finest hour.

I used to be like you lot: "Why does nobody like this band? They are so good!!" But then I realised I was wrong, The Fratellis are no more than a heavy chorus melodic group with average musical talent and embarrassingly bad lyrics. Sure, their songs will be catchy, but they don't hold up anywhere near as well as their rivals (eg: Arctic Monkeys or The Libertines). I'm not even that much of an Indie fan anymore, but when a track from The Fratellis comes on I won't skip it, I'll sit and reminisce about the ridiculous phase I went through liking this band.

I met this guy on the internet, I actually really liked him, he was an amazing person. The first time he said 'I love you' to me, I was surprised and so happy at the same time. I remember the first time I showed him this song, we even sang it together.. good times... Sadly, we broke up recently after being in love with eachother for a year, everytime I listen to this song, I cry because of how much I miss him. It's painful..
