Franklin, Aretha - The Way We Were Lyrics
Memories like the corners of my mind
Memories
Misty watercolor memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind
For the way we were
Oh can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line
And if we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me
Would we?
Could we?
Memories may be beautiful and yet
We simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter we'll remember
We'll remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were

Franklin, Aretha The Way We Were Comments
Very fine heartfelt singing. The orchestra is stunning.
Why cant she sing instead of shouting ?
Ugh, what a horrible version
Nobody forced you to listen to it
@Aretha Franklin Whitney Houston Nobody forced to listen but everybody has the right to say that it's an awful version !!!
That's a shitty version. Great voice. One of the greatest that there will ever be but I don't think it was for her
ruthiehensh See Bitch Your Comment Doesn't Matter Nor Does Anyone Else Doesn't Like Aretha Franklin Because She Ethic Are Incredibly UnTouchable This Woman Is An Professional Talented Ain't Challenging Ever No Doubt In My Mind That She Can't Sing Anything When You And Everybody Else Can't Compete Nor Compare This Woman Has An Original Sound Like No Other Theological Your Emotions Towards Having Some Say About The Track That Aretha Franklin Sung On Has Been Expelled
@Ethicy Millennium - no need to call her a bitch - it's _her_ opinion - and she's all entitled for it. and aretha in all beloved and deserved honor - but i see it quite the same way - she exaggerated it way too much and looses connection to the songwriting and the meaning, imho. once you've heard f.e. gladys knights version from 79, there's no turning back. ever. and that's _my_ opinion.
Amazing!!..I miss Aretha so much!!
Aretha has always had a slight lisp. It's more pronounced in this song. I wish she had recorded it in the seventies. Her live seventies version is a gift from heaven.
Not sure about it being RARE it's on her Woman Falling Out of Love Album - BUT BLOODY BEAUTIFUL VERSION!!! The Queen and Ron Isley
Wow pain pain pain💔😭😭😭
her riffs are amazing
i didnt know that she was singing this song too wow
Is Aretha dueting with herself here?
The Way We Were (feat. Ronald Isley)
I think Ronald Isley is in there, not sure about contracts? Aretha Records not a "Major"
AWESOME SONG
