I heard this song was inspired by Barbara Jordan.

The liner notes from the Rhino re-release of Hey Now Hey says, ".....an up-tempo cut reputedly written in tribute to Aretha's friend Houston-born Esther Phillips."

I was very sad to hear about the death of the Queen of Soul. This is just another great song from her. R.I.P.

I had this 45 on my first Fisher Price record when I was 6 years old. I loved this song back then as I do now. RIP Queen of Soul.

One of my favorites by Aretha Franklin.

I bought this album  but it's taken a while for it to grow on me. I love the artist's vocal range for that time. Aretha sings songs that other artist would not dare touch. That's part of her mystique. I love that about her. Her choice in writing music is from her heart not for the music lover to understand.

It took me awhile to like this song and now it's one of my favorites. plus she wrote it.

I find that she sings the craziest shit but it still works.

it looks bout right, I think Aretha add lib to some parts, but for the most part it sounds bout right.

I like this funky beat. I didn't understand the theme to this song but It's an Aretha song. I guess that's all that matters. I love it Ms Ree.
