Frank Zappa - Your Mouth Lyrics

Your mouth is your religion
You put your faith in a hole like that?
You put your trust and your belief
Above your jaw, and no relief
Have I found

I heard your story when you come home
You said you went to see your sister last night
Well, you might loose a bunch of teeth
And find a funeral wreath
While you'll be laying in the ground
All alone

So tell me where are you coming from
With all them lies
As you stumble in at the breakin' of the day.
Where are you coming from, my shot-gun say
Because it just might wanna blow you away
'Cause it just might wanna blow you away

An evil woman, can make ya cry
If you believe her every time she lies
Well you can be a big fool
If she makes you loose your cool, and so
I've got me some advice you should try

Just let her talk a little
Oh, just let her talk a little more
Just... just let her talk a little more
And when she runs out of words
Just say the same thing that I told you before

Now tell me where are you coming from
With all them lies
As you stumble in the breakin' of the day
Where are you coming from, my shot-gun say
Because it just might wanna blow you away
'Cause it just might wanna blow you away
'Cause it just might wanna blow you away
'Cause it just might wanna blow you away
'Cause it just might wanna blow you away
'Cause it just might wanna blow you away

Frank Zappa Your Mouth Comments
  1. F.... ....

Funny that many of Zappa's albums that didn't sell so well are some of my favorites. Everyone's looking for another Zomby Woo, but I love his jazz and orchestrated recordings just as much.

  2. T.... ....

"If you believe her every time she lies" I was too young to realize what that meant when I bought this album.

  3. S.... ....

This seems to be, despite the jolly music, one of Zappa’s angriest songs. My take is that it began as an angry response to dealings with a drug-addicted family memory, who would show up at the breaking of the day, looking for financial addiction support. Expanding it to include the nature of the pickup transactions that occur in a singles bar is totally Frank.

    thank you mister Frank .

It just might wanna blow you away - It just might be a one-shot deal.

I got this album in 1973 I probably listened to it 500 times I could listen another 500!

    so good ahh frank

Wish Frank had more recorded Blues & Soul tunes. He was so damn good at arranging them. You can definitely hear the Guitar Slim influence in tracks like these, with those ridiculously singable little riffs up and down the neck during the last chorus.

Another bluesy Frank song that's awesome is Road Ladies. Hopefully you haven't heard it yet and it will be a nice little treat - "new" Zappa makes me so damn happy :p

oh man franks so good  and the band

This is one FZ album that just gets better with age. Sneaky Pete's pedal steal on One Shot Deal is priceless!
