Frank Sinatra - The Impatient Years Lyrics
We're going through the impatient years
The years when the day seems twice as long
Restless and sighing and laughing and crying
And dreaming a dream people say is wrong
The impatient years
To each other's arms where we belong
Clinging together
I'm certain we'll weather the warm and stormy day
and impatient year
But we'll journey through
The impatient years
To each other's arms where we belong
Clinging together
And impatient year

Frank Sinatra The Impatient Years Comments
Great Song !! Franks version is Perfect !! One of His Best !
He certainly was the master with ballads & Nelson Riddle's arrangement was excellent.
61 YEARS LATE but still so enjoyable the team of Vanhusem cahn and sinatra, unbeatable
I have long said that this is one of the greatest recordings Frank Sinatra ever made, and you never get to hear it ! Most definitely in the top five .
It is an excellent ballad wonderfully performed by Mr. Sinatra with Nelson Riddle's equally great arrangement.
I love "couldn't care less"
Absolutely! Recall this song playing on the radio as I toured Fort Jay, New York back in early 1960s. This ties with the title song Our Town, as the greatest tunes Sinatra ever sang! Gawd I want to go back!
Oops forgot to mention thanks for posting the song.
You're welcome, Palmer.
I finally got a copy of the TV musical version of Our Town , this song was featured with Paul Newman and Eva Marie Saint singing it. another beautiful song from that show was "Look To Your Heart".
One of these days, I will upload Frank's wonderful version of "Look to your Heart."
@Palmer Short 000h! Can you post it? Some truly great songs from Our Town. I love the title song, Look to Your Heart and this. :) Love & Marriage was the weakest song from the telecast.
This should have been a hit song as well! Guaranteed had it not been the filp side of Love and Marriage, you just know it would have been. This song ranks right up there with all the other beautiful love ballads from the Capitol years. Thanks for posting, I really was searching for this one on YouTube. Again, thanks a lot!!

Great, honeybee.
Thanks, Bobbie. I have been on a romantic chord since yesterday. This is one of very many great ones recorded by Sinatra in the '50s. I find your comments on Eva Marie Saint interesting. 2 years ago after a Q&A following a screening of North by Northwest, I happened to be standing a few feet away from Eva, who been a participant. Even in her 80s she still retains that delicate beauty. She is very dignified, yet down to earth. I consider her to be one of Alfred Hitchcock's best leading ladies.
Thank you, jlee6771.
This is lovely. :-)
