Frank Sinatra - Mood Indigo Lyrics

You ain't been blue; no, no, no
You ain't been blue
Till you've had that mood indigo
That feelin' goes stealin' down to my shoes
While I sit and sigh, "Go 'long blues"

Always get that mood indigo
Since my baby said goodbye
In the evenin' when lights are low
I'm so lonely I could cry

'Cause there's nobody who cares about me
I'm just a soul who's
Bluer than blue can be
When I get that mood indigo
I could lay me down and die

Frank Sinatra Mood Indigo Comments
  1. t.... ....

This the time you cannot adjust any damn thing in the tuning and sounds.

  2. b.... b....

La soledad, la introspección, el amor perdido, las relaciones fallidas, la depresión y la vida nocturna

  3. A.... T....

    Absolute banger

No one sang this song as Gene Austin. His version gives me much much more than this
with Sinatra. My grandfather Haldor (1909-81) said Sinatra sang false. Gene Austin was a better singer in my opinion. This is the only time I hear a whole recording by sinatra. I hear in the future only this song by Gene Austin. Austin 5 stars Sinatra 0 star

    B.... M....

    Fuck this comment lmao

I sang this and about 700 other songs--that's seven and two zero's; all the songs from the great songwriters, three nights a week, downtown, at Dowe's on Ninth jazz nightclub in Pittsburgh, Pa., next door to 'BLUSH', the nudie bar. But it's no longer in business. Jazz is an endangered music forum in the Steel Town. Nudie bars are thriving, however. Anybody wanna start a sophisticated Jazz group? No problem with a shortage of material. Oh, by the way, Sinatra was unparalleled. Simply the best...EVER!

Rock Nouveau I’m guessing you used to live back then?

@Trippychug 10 years ago. Hell of a song, ain't it...

Always loved this album, it sums up so many feelings that engulf us when we lose someone we love, especially if we lose them to somebody else.

this is my mom's song for my little brother and she would also sing this to me when I was a baby

  16. R.... J....

Utterly sublime version of the Duke Ellington classic. Frank at his very best was unbeatable. No wonder Miles Davis wanted to record with The Voice.

  17. 0.... ....

Neil Gaiman brought me here.. XD

    0.... ....

With his first comic feat Dave Mckean "Violent Cases".

Thanks, Erick. I've never read anything from Gaiman but I've been interested in picking up his Sandman series.

Savvy Savages Sandman Is a masterpiece, full of references

This is the first 'brought me here' comment I can actually respect.

  18. E.... M....

Why is this tagged under "Hip Hop Music"?

    E.... M....

Young Sinatra or Logic? EMC Sinatra? I don't know lol

    E.... M....

    Gangsta music lol

It will. Meantime get Where Are You/ (1957) another but less well known gem.

  21. p.... ....

Love this album soo much. Got made fun of alot as a teenager for playing it . I'm thirty now and its still as good today as it was soo many years ago.

    p.... ....

dam same but I'm 21 now

    p.... ....

I was scorned by friends for playing this album when I was an undergraduate in the 80s. Those same friends now mention fairly often how glad they are I introduced them to Nelson Riddle and Sinatra.

Irving Mills deserves a mention - it is a great lyric.

Im 16 and yeah people make fun of for listening to Frank sinatra, Nancy sinatra, CCR, etc they call it shit music and encourage me to listen to their edm music

    p.... ....

It’s horrible how people make fun of other’s taste.

  22. M.... B....

Mood Indigo by Sinatra is one of the greatest musical efforts of all times ...

  23. b.... ....

My wife and I listened to this whole album on the road from Grand Canyon North Rim to Colorado as the sun was rising over the the spot where the forest meets the desert. It was absolutely perfect. It is definitely a mood record though, one of the best imo.

    b.... ....

furcifur3 can you describe me the whole trip ?

  24. A.... ....

hm, maybe you just have to be in the right state of mind. The whole album is "mood indigo," so I guess if you're cheery, you wouldn't like it.

  25. b.... ....

in these nights when lights are low...
