Frank Sinatra - Don't Sleep In The Subway Lyrics
You wander around on your own little cloud
When you don't see the why or the wherefore
You walk out on me when we both disagree
'Cause to reason is not what you care for
I've heard it all a million times before
Don't sleep in the subway, darlin', don't stand in the pouring rain
Don't sleep in the subway, darlin', the night is long
Forget your foolish pride, nothing's wrong
Now you're beside me again
You try to be smart, then you take it to heart
'Cause it hurts when your ego is deflated
You don't realize that it's all compromise
And the problems are so overrated
Goodbye means nothing when it's all for show
Don't sleep in the subway, darlin', don't stand in the pouring rain
Don't sleep in the subway, darlin', the night is long
Forget your foolish pride, nothing's wrong
Now you're beside me again
Don't sleep in the subway, darlin'...

Frank Sinatra Don't Sleep In The Subway Comments
Hate his version.
No one has loved and lost like Frank has loved and lost!!!
Glen Campbell played on this recording. July 24, 1967 at United Recording for The World We Knew album
oh, gezz, yeah, the song was contemporary, but....
Don't get me wrong, I think FS was the best male singer of the 20th century, but he just didn't get the feeling for late 60's, early 70's songs. What set Frank apart from all others of his time was his incredible timing in singing those songs of the 40's, 50's, and early 60's. I know he is trying to bring something different to the table when covering these songs, but it sounds more like musical foolishness to me.
Frank was just trying to ritz up the song. I think this song was from 1961.
The original by Petula Clark was 1967. Sinatra screwed it up.
BleedBNG ... look in yutube the version of underrated British crooner, matt monro , its smoother, my favorites !!!!!!! Peace out,🥁🎺🎷🎶🎵🎤🍺🍺🍺
Sinatra covered 3 Petula Clark songs: "Call Me" and "Downtown" on Strangers in the Night. And then this on The World We Knew. Unfortunately we don't get great covers like those anymore, it's the same ol' shit: Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Eminem, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea, Rick Ross, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Drake, Meek Mill, Big Sean, Nicki Minaj, Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, Kid Cudi, Charli XCX, Meghan Trainor, Taylor Swift, Jason Derulo, One Direction, and Maroon 5. Time to trade in those "artists" for the real artists of music: Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, and Frank Zappa.
+jazzalex22 Artists today are playing their music to a different generation. I think it's important to respect that instead of complaining about the "no talent " artists on the radio. We don't live in the 60s and 70s anymore .
Andy Williams and Tony Bennett too !
Love it!!!!!!!!
I 've a lp of 60'
