Frank Sinatra - Day By Day Lyrics

Day by day I'm falling more in love with you
And day by day my love seems to grow
There isnt any end to my devotion
It's deeper dear by far than any ocean

I find that day by day youre making all my dreams come true
And (so) come what may I want you to know
I'm (that I am) yours alone, and I'm in love (in love) to stay
As we go through the years day by day

(I said, day by day)
(As we go through the years day by day)

I give a big shout out to Frank Sinatra but I will always give a bigger shout to the original crooner, Jimmy Scott, who was underestimated and never acknowledged, and was still singing in his eighties! In spite of the hardships in his life he was such a loving human being!

  26. R.... S....

    What a dreamboat.... Swooning....😍

  27. L.... W....

Yes the Sinatra voice from the 1940s had a dreamy smooth romantic tender quality. Add Axel Stordahls strings and the songs were unbeatable like this one. No wonder the young girls swooned over his music from the 1940s.

  28. C.... B....

    the greatest

  29. E.... J....

I say he's the chairman of the board

  30. B.... S....

    Man! Early Sinatra...... Very cool...

  31. M.... ....

Mom was of the generation of bobby soxers who were passing out in the theater aisles over Old Blue Eyes and yet Mom didn't care for him until his Reprise Records days in the early 1960's. I prefer the Columbia sides because I think on those he stayed with the melody. There were too many liberties taken with a lot of melodies on the Reprise sides. This is a very nice rendition of this No. 1 hit of 1945-46.

    M.... ....

Don't forget his wonderful Capitol recordings, MrManorAvenue.

    M.... ....

Oh, no, I certainly didn't forget his Capitol sides. With the exception of "From Here To Eternity," I just prefer the earlier Columbia recordings' 1940's big band sound as far as the orchestrations are concerned. And switching from Old Blue Eyes to your catman916 photo: The cat reminds me so much of Peabody, who was the Russian Blue or Korat my parents brought home from the shelter as a surprise for me one day in 1968. And speaking of music, Peabody had the most musical voice.

    M.... ....

My cat's name is Mira, who I found in my garage 7 years ago. She is one of the sweetest cats I have ever known. Russian blues are known to be mellow and affectionate.

    M.... ....

I wish i was a bobby soxer, but i had to be born in the darn 2000s.

  32. D.... S....

Darla Smith - This has always been one of my many favorite songs. It brings back memories. Thank you.

  33. L.... ....

Frank Sinatra was the Greatest !! Great song too !!

  34. P.... e....

I remember this song very much in the 50's. And it was the theme song of two neighbours back in the Philippines. I sang this song with the male neighbour in the 50's by the gate seat of our house which then caught attention by the female neighbour. Oh I remember this song so well and I just wish that my two neighbours became husband and wife.

  35. T.... L....

four people whose life must really suck; this is timeless and sensational.

  36. G.... S....

Yes this is the song that helped Doris choose her "star" last name from Doris Kappelhoff,

  37. S.... J....

Love this song and as always love sinatra .happy 100 and forever.

    S.... J....

+Sophie Jefferson It doesn't get any better than this, Sophie.

  38. G.... D....

Mmmm gotta love that young Frank Sinatra

  39. B.... ....

These are the same three guys, [ Axel Stordhal, Paul Weston ( Mr. Jo Stafford), and (The Great) Sammy Cahn ] who wrote " I Should Care ".

  40. j.... c....

    Frank Sinatra-The Best Singer Ever.

    j.... c....

Many people would agree with you, Jay.

    j.... c....

I agree. He is the best ever.

  41. I.... V....

    That voice!

  42. f.... ....

He was so much better when he was younger. I could listen to him all day, who were the assholes who disliked this ! Seriously

  43. B.... L....

    The Voice of the Century.

  44. M.... F....

Sinatra was simply spellbinding during this earlier period of his career.

  45. J.... G....

He was the best and we all miss him!

  46. J.... G....

People remember Sinatra in the 60's when his voice wasn't as good as the decades before. In the 40's they called him The Voice and rightfully so. It was mellow.

  47. J.... H....

Greatet Mafia Associate of ALL TIME...Frank Sinatra

  48. B.... B....

Frank is my man but give a listen to "Mike Cossi - Day By Day" and you'll be not disappointed.

    B.... B....

i was disappointed - so much so i left a thumbs down - unusual for me

  49. J.... ....

Just the appeal of women during WW2? I'm only 31 and he's appealing to me in 2012! :) They just don't make men Blue Eyes anymore...

  50. c.... s....

Agreed!!! Agreed agreed agreed. Only true Sinatra fans see that, I think.

  51. c.... ....

@Florencione While most people seem to prefer the Sinatra of the 1950s, when his voice was richer and deeper, the Sinatra voice of the 1940s had a sweet gentleness which was perfect for songs and arrangements like this.

    c.... ....

    I like both. :)

  52. F.... ....

    The most beautiful voice ever.

  53. B.... K....

This is part of the great american legacy. All the gifted crooners.
And all the splendid composers of popular music. Style!

  54. M.... C....

One of my favorite Sinatra recordings from the Columbia years. Stordahl,s arrangement was perfect, that large string section and the harp, too.

  55. P.... A....

The GREATEST of ALL, Frank Sinatra was, and STILL is.....

  56. C.... ....

It seriously infuriates me that we have strayed from music like this.

  57. I.... t....

frank sinatra most singer of the history from jazz

  58. D.... K....

sometimes legends are exaggerated and made to be more than they are and sometimes they are are even greater than their billing. Sinatra's music surpasses the legend
