Frank Sinatra - Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) Lyrics
I was five and she was six
We rode on horses made of sticks
I wore black and she wore white
She would always win the fight
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down
[instrumental]
Seasons came and changed the time
And we grew up, I called her mine
She would always laugh and say
"Remember when we used to play?"
"Bang bang, I shot you down"
"Bang bang, you hit the ground"
"Bang bang, that awful sound"
"Bang bang, I used to shoot you down"
[Bridge]
Music played and people sang
Just for me the church bells rang
[instrumental]
Now she's gone, I don't know why
And till this day, sometimes I cry
She didn't even say "goodbye"
She didn't take the time to lie
Bang bang, she shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down

Hmmm.....this is one of those things where the father makes something awesome and the child does it just a little bit better....and the father is most likely very proud.....and we are all better off for it......
who's here at 2019 ?
The Sinatra family did it the best.
*I want to listen 1973 version of the song from Sinatra but I couldn't find it anywhere!*
uninspiring version.
I like both versions 1973 and 1981

Hello to all the loving fans of this legendary song "My Baby Shot me down": Arjumann, an independent musician / filmmaker here. I've done a brand new cover version of this great song using some of own arrangements in the Garagband app through iPhone. Go this link and have a watch and feel free to make your true comment on the video itself which was edited by myself too. Thanks and Much Love! | https://youtu.be/tm0I1P-62Dk |

Unbelievable sound
*Frankie!!*
I am very impressed with this version!
The mournful strings and the emotional vocal delivery nail it!
*Thank you for posting this clip!!*
Обожаю!!!
Thumbs-up if #Hollyoaks brought you here... :D
The best and the most emotional song from a guy -or a girl in the case of Nancy Sinatra, that tells the story of being friendzoned...

I wish my beloved could be that romantic , I feel like my heart is empty..
Wow, unsteady voice, onsets are bad, ick ick ick. Is this when he was older?
He was 66 at the time, I think. It was recorded in 1981
My G Don Toliver has a mean sample of this on his version of Bang Bang Houston stand up
I prefer Franky's version. Rather than Nancy's or David's version.
Where can I find 1973 version ? I know already 1981 version
nancy his daughter also did a version of the song once solo second with the audio bullys.
Best cover by Lady Gaga and Dua Lipa.
Alguien por natalia?
this is originally song not Dua Lipa.
The original is by Cher
Full credit to the late Sonny Bono who wrote the song, and Frank who turns this into a classic.
I can almost sing this. Not Nancy's version.
Shane dawson squad. Where you at?
whos here from shane dawson?
me omg i really want to know the version shane used
Igazi örök darab.😉
That' s the magic version!
I love Nancy's better but this one is really good, too.
Very leonard cohen-like
Ohhh god i can feel the pain through his voice 💔💔..such emotional singing and perfect performance ..2018

Bang Bang
I love the remix house..i shot you down bang bang
Okay okay I just found this version and wow this is better than any else version just wow
LOVE the original mechanics
What a morbid, sad song! Sonny Bono wrote this song and Cher had a hit from it in 1966, then Nancy Sinatra recorded it that same year, the Righteous Brothers, and then Frank Sinatra recorded it in 1973 and again in 1981. I really don't know why people like this song -- she shot him down, he fell on the ground, the funeral's church bells rang, etc. Horrible! God think it's in a minor key, guess some people like it for its moroseness.
Where can I find 1973 version ?
What came first this version or Nancy's version?....either way i liked Nancy's version better.
I think the lyrics make more sense coming from a woman.
Cher sang it first in 1966, Nancy was the second to sing it also in 1966. I believe Frank sang it in 1981.
M.J. Leger But why is that? Why can't a man be vulnerable to being metaphorically shot down and rejected by a woman? The genders can be totally interchangeable here.
My absolute favorite
I've recently discovered This legend thanks to kaleo's bang bang cover, and I got to say both of them are the definition of quality.
I love his daughter's cover but holy shit! You can feel the pain with him singing. This is just my honest opinion and he does an amazing job. You can only really ever capture the moment from a song in the perfect mood and setting
This song probably justly displays what Sonny Bono was thinking in one of his drug-induced depressions! Why the Sinatras recorded this is anyone's guess, other than it was popular at the time, and they joined the bandwagon to get songs heard by the morbid public!
Thought also his Nancy Sinatra sang it better than any version
terrible version
2018 👀
Not saying I know the exact interpretation.... but I'm assuming it's about love and putting 100 % into somebody you think you know and trust and then like a bullet come to the realisation you can't trust anybody but yourself coz the one person you trusted let you down in the most hurtful way . Male or female it's not about gender. It's about being seriously let down . That's my interpretation anyway x
joel turner I bet it is!
I think you hit the nail on the head!
Nancy sinatra tiene su misma canción versión mujer
So now Dua Lipa copied the song too 😄😄

Joki Sama Musical.ly is a tumor on society, and needs to be removed.
@Mentelpe Jenkins I know you're right!
Joki Sama W T F ?
can someone tell me if this is the original version?
lisbeth young the original version is french, is Sheila : bang bang 😉
lisbeth young The original version is by cher (written by her first husband, Sonny Bono)
If wikipedia is to be trusted then Cher's English version is the original one ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bang_Bang_(My_Baby_Shot_Me_Down) ). But strangely enough French lyrics seem to make more sense.
Nancy Sinatra and Kill Bill Vol. 1
Who`s from Fallout 4?
I love it!
At Speed : 1:25 & 1:5 , It's Great !!!
No, it’s perfect already.
Masterful Francis Albert. He turns dreck into gold as only he could.
is this song have any relate or sign to racism that was in america 60s
Roy Staggers hhhhhhhhhhh
Hussien Shehata
im pretty sure frank wasnt racist at thise times. Go deeper and listen to his other songs.
Sinatra went politically from a JFK Democrat to Reagan Republican. He would've despised Trump because he was never racist at any time in his life. His music was always his interpretation of the song. This one is about failed love.
Hussien Shehata It's just music why does it matter
NO! Sonny had a dream about his dying, but he hit a tree instead of getting shot down!
i prefer the version of his daughter Nancy
angel ramirez nice
butch2366 Cher always wins.
@angel ramirez Oooo yeeesssss. Finaly. I found the perfect version thank You Angel Ramirez.

I really like this one too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4Km0M9x4Bg
@dewang trivedi: this was made in 1981. David guetta made his in 2014. So Sinatra proceded him

+Demetrio Landeros Regardless of spelling, you were wrong.
Your sarcasm filter needs to be cleaned up, please do so, before you comment anything else.
Detailed Explanation: Sarcasm (def.) - the use of remarks that clearly mean the opposite of what they say, made in order to hurt someone's feelings or to criticize something in a humorous way: (Cambridge University Dictionary)
Plainly explained to you; sarcasm is a way to insult idiots without them realizing; only you went completely braindead. No shit Frank Sinatra was born, lived and created his art before Nicki Minaj even started, so no... I thought Frank Sinatra was part of Wu-Tang Clan.
*facepalm*
Neil, you cannot say, "regardless of spelling". Education is everything, isn't it? Tony Robson
Huh .... What a loser.. copied the song from david guetta and skylar Grey... :P
Lol at the idiots
XxCookieXx Cookie my god... He was joking... Can't u see that... That's called SARCASM
Stupid.
Nick Cruz Made famous by Nancy?
Cher's original version was a million-seller, reaching, among other placements, #2 on the US Hot 100, #3 in the UK and #1 in Italy.

He's singin' for the Devil in Hell now!
But it all mostly sounds like a long, blood-curdling scream.
How can you surmise that unless you're in hell too!
pop per I mean, the guy was also directly responsible for desegregating the music industry and virtually all of hollywood before segregation was actually made illegal. But he was a player? Wow he should rot in hell lmao
You must be very young and impressionable and full of misinformation! No one can judge who belongs in hell (if there even is one) - learn to be nice! Frank Sinatra gave more to music than anyone before, during or since his era. He was also accused of many things he was not guilty of, all because there were many out there who were jealous of his success.
What a transparent a pathetic cry for attention.
You have my pity
pop per: And you're probably about to say hello to him there (only he's not there so you'll get there and can't get back!)
Oh my lord in heaven above, its angelic !!
me derribastes ya ahce muchos años atraz y desde ahi creo que nunca me levante bella niña ati cecilia sanchez santana dodne quieras que estes....
Frank killed it. Listened to several versions and this by far the best one of them all.
michael sanborn i love his daughter's version too
No, actually it was written by Sonny Bono, but Cher was the first one, who performed it. ;-)
@reallybigcarfreak Actualy Cher did it first in 1966 - Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) :) Nancy Sinatra made her cover of the Cher's song in same year. Her father - Frank Sinatra made his version, as part of the 'She Shot Me Down' album in 1981 - this version here. There are a Dalida version in italian, as far as I know. The Ania Dąbrowska version of Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) is pretty new - it's from march 2010. The instrumental version from 'Kill Bill' is actualy Nancy's version.
