Some bone fractures are corrected by fixing rod in medullary region ex: in tibia fracture etc. How bone fracture recover by fixing rod in medullary region?. I think It's lead to side affects

Lateral ...... I fractured my 5th metatarsal on my left leg . Not Jones, but further up, it was Avulsion. I rolled my ankle skateboarding and i guess that pulled something to break the bone. I am scared to move my foot as I want to heal it as fast as possible because I am an athlete. However my ankle and foot get really stiff if i don't move it. Do you have any tips on how to keep the blood flowing? I'm also worried about the muscles i uses to balance will atrophy. Is there a way to work the muscles in my calve and leg without damaging the fracture? thanks

My father's left femoral neck has been fractured since 10 days. But for poor heart condition, operation can't be done on that portion! Instead of that, Dr advised to set a traction on that leg! How much recovery is possible at the age of 72? 😢😢😢

Yes! But it will take time depending upon the site and type of fracture and the method of fixation.

What about in the case of a spinal fracture. I have an L1 compression fracture. The Drs. didn't suggest kyphoplasty. My fracture is stable. What I do not understand is that the vertebrae does not regenerate. So how does it heal? Will it always be compressed?

I broke tib and fib got titanium rod and screws now and a nail in my ankle ok now took along time to heal 8 months of work 2 years before walk with out a limp still can't run properly.

its already been two weeks already since i fractured my foot and the swelling went down a lot, but recently these past five day my foot swollen again? i never even fractured anything before but i'm curious why is it swollen again. D: (i know i'm probably over thinking it, just wanna know) when i put my air cast on myself am i making it tight where i move the fractured part is?(its on the right foot on the 5th metatarsal)

well I have fractured my ankle 3/4 years ago and still the same and theres nothing they can do about it..

Do you still have stiffness and swelling in your ankle? I had an open compound fracture about 18 months ago that required screws and a rod that still seems to give me grief (aches hardcore some days).

Don't worry, collar bone is the most commonly broken bone and it will heal quickly without surgery and won't have any complications.
I completely broke my tibia and fibula 8 days back, like seen in the thumbnail. 😂

Won’t drilling holes in my bone make it weaker ??? I don’t get it

The holes are for the pins/screws to keep the bone in place thereby forcing it to grow in place and correctly. This is probably for huge breaks and more serious fractures. Once the bone is together and still healing, weight bearing should slowly progress to not only get your muscles and tissue out of the stiff/non-active state their in, but also so Wolff's law can progressively be applied yo your bone.
