Foxygen - No Destruction Lyrics
I'm sendin' you this photograph of me in my new car
But I hate to say I miss you cause you don't need me anymore
You politely say I miss you but we know you don't mean that anymore
Like when the toc tic finally caught you, then you weaseled through the door
Through the door of consciousness, San Francisco
Oh you make it so
Oh you make it so long on me
Someone who smokes pot in the subway
Pot in the subway with me
Oh destructo, you're so destruct
Oh you so destructive to me
No destruction in the waking hour
No destruction in the waking wind
No destruction in the waking hour
I'm talking to my grandma who lost her arms in the war
The aliens and armory that bond hers to God's door
Now you think that I don't know but I know you to know quite well
That I caught you sipping milkshakes in the parlor of the hotel
There's no need to be an asshole, you're not in Brooklyn anymore
You may take what you are given but you leave it on the floor
And I know you're gonna try to take my big mouse
Take the panels off my greenhouse
Oh but the door of consciousness isn't open anymore
Oh you think it's over, oh you think it's over with me
Someone who smokes pot in the subway
Pot in the subway with me
Oh destructo, you're so destructive
Oh you so destructive to me
No destruction in the waking hour
No destruction in the waking wind
No destruction in the waking hour
No corruption on the mountain high
No destruction in the waking hour
No destruction in the waking wind
No destruction, no destruction
No destruction...

my best friend and i used to play darts to this song and laugh; he's gone now - god bless you brother
I think these kids like the Velvets, LOFL. Not that that's a bad thing.
I'm 70 and I love it too 🖤 Takes me back to the days of the wonderful Syd 🖤
i love the way he pronuns - ore 💙
The best song Dylan never wrote.
Oh simpler times...
Is this country?
Oh, and Lou was simply not talented.
Woody Guthrie was never a hillbilly and Beck and Bobby are losers.
I believe this whole area burned down recently, including this set at the Paramount Ranch. Far from no destruction there.
This song was a huge part of my senior year
Nice song.
Never heard anyone trying to sing like Dylan this much.. 😮
no destrucsyionnn no destrucsyiooonn
Remind me ramones
Still having fun with this song in 2018
Ok but where the hell can I watch the Buffalo son?!
for a second i thought macgruber was playing the drums
hahaha, my friend made a cover of this song on garrageband and I opened it and listened to it without him knowing, and I thought its his song this whole time :D huge shock for me
link or it didn't happen
I love this song
Am i the only one getting whiffs of No Expectations or especially Jigsaw Puzzle off Beggars Banquet? Not that the velvet dylan pavement thing isn't there.
SiA LODATO GESU CRISTO!!!
This video confuses me. When I listen to this song I imagine world weathered spiritual hippies and then in the video I see prepubescent babies. My question is how do these babies know how to make great music? Good for the babies.
Foxygen lo maximo

I just don't "buy" these guys. They seem like L.A. actor/theater kids playing rock stars. There's no pain/pleasure, depth, wisdom or experience in their work. Granted they're kids but still. I don't even sense an authentic sense of humor. It's all cabaret and posture
....but mainly the songs just seem wayyyyy too derivative. They have good taste (aside from BJTM). They are good at copying what they love but I don't sense any of themselves in the music. I especially don't sense any authentic self in their image and body language
they sound like Louis Reed and The Velvet Underground absolutely
but getting a strong Rolling Stones too. Anyone else hearing it?
Fuck it. After listening to this song for the 5th time I was like babe we're going to San Francisco next year.....and Vegas
First time I've heard this song and boy it brings me back.
God dammit Sam France. Quit making me fall in love with you!
What is that clip at 0:43?
just seen them live in phoenix and they played this song
Stargazer420 i was there and they didnt u goddamn liar
Anyone hear Leonard Cohen in the first part of the verses?
To me this looks like Beck, Looser era circa 1994. Good stuff.
i can hear Dylan background melodies. nothing wrong with it,I just heard it. first tume listen to this band and that "on blue mountain" song braught here. They're okay.
Dead flowers..
Dam he got some hops on that jump at the end. Probably could have made a career in the NBA but glad he chose music.
This is so pretty, someone recommend more songs like this
Listen to Pavement or ask me. [email protected]
This song reminds me of Travis!
a good song to quell my destructive tendencies
Has strong Slayer vibes.
kylecomplains get out
I feel kind of relaxed now.
Beastie boy fight for your right revised
Rado will you marry me when the restraining orders up?
i wish someone would sign my garlic
Sounds kind of like Miley Cyrus.
I definitely hear beck in this.
gua rrana you see Beck.
I. Love. This. Song.
these cats are brilliant
RIP Ryan Giambattista... i was so in love with you.. and its almost been a year since youve been gone.. but this song is the ONLY THING that i have of you. Because I can hear you singing this to me in the car... and when you used to scream "POT! IN THE SUBWAY!" i fucking love you and im still a wreck without you
Every time that part comes in the song I think about him and this comment, wanted you to know that
What Henry said...
Who? I just googled him and cant find any association with the band
And quit bitching about them copying. They're very much influenced by older artists like Bob Dylan and have said it several times. This song for examples draws many ideas and melodies from Desolation Row.
Exactly.
haha ouf! Failed to notice it. Thanks!
love how they included a lot of parts of their high school homemade films

So much old school influence. These dudes are dope.
what does Nam Taehyun think of this?
Take that, Brooklyn.
Owen Wilson on the drums.
Aw they looked so happy. I hope they keep making music, they're pretty good...
yo didnt think to find you hear in a foxygen vid!
So good.....
Sounds like classic Lou Reed
Definitely, classic Lou Reed and occasionally 60's Mick Jagger in there too. (at least to me)
I thought this was velvet underground
When I heard the first notes, I thought Travelin’ Wilburys. All good. All good stuff.
I'm having some serious Velvet Underground deja vu.
You mean deja VU? LOL
i love you!!!!!!!!!
I will meet you one day Foxygen you beautifully enlightened souls
+Allison Grubbs Met them after their show last november in San Francisco, CA. They just stood around hanging out/loading up their gear. Sam France is really nice, and Rado is kind of an awkward fellow.
What? I would have thought it was the other way around. In interviews Sam seems so awkward and Rado is always so open. Very surprised.
its all over now baby blue
he sounds like darude from sandstorm
You people suck with all of your comparisons. Just enjoy it for what it is.
+Papito Swanson I think it sounds like the notes A, B, C, D, E, F and G
Dylan & Velvet Underground influences?
2:24 There was no need to impugn a whole city based on stereotypical references in movies and tv shows. Best thing for this guy would be to keep out of the Brooklyn area for the rest of his flower loving days.
I heard from the guy that I get my diamond water from that these guys with machetes are actually government employees that maintain through various quirkily terrible hijinks the necessary level of Asshole-dumb in Brooklyn to ensure that the spirit of Theodore Roosevelt does not break out of the Anti-Matter prison the government has established in the Earth's core and go after the Kardashians with his Lazer monocle and historically big dick.
That's exactly what he meant.
That's what he meant
Singer looks like a skinny Shaun Ryder
Amazingly hilarious and classic. B|
mobile phones make u grow old
0:45 , Is that a movie, or actual recording of someone being shot? Looks so real.. Great vide and song
@***** Yeah that could be
LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shaun Fleming puts the "foxy" in Foxygen.
Which one is Shawn Fleming ? The blonde or black haired cowboy in the band?
i hear so much lou reed and bob dylan i love it
I liked how the video footage from over the years shows the evolution of the band and how they got to where they are today.
This song is highly addictive and I love it :) hahahaaha
I totally love this band and song. Marvelous!
The opening shots looks like the set from Jim Jarmusch's Dead Man <3
I get depressed when I realize I will never be as cool and layed back as these guys.
quite a shame they don't have as many fans, considering this is music.
The door of conciseness aren't open anymore
Reminds me a bit of a slowed down, slightly mellowed/chilled version of Velvet Underground's Rock n' Roll, with hints of Jagger mixed in. Love it! If anyone else touched upon this already my bad, I didn't read the comments.
Holy shit he sounds dead up like mick jagger from the Rolling Stones 3:00-3:26. Foxygen is tight.
@Turd Ferguson thanks for that, I was wondering what that part reminds me of
true man, he has got there something
Rafał Blecharz I'm turd....
This album is amazing! The sound they sculpted took me a while to get used to, but it's definitely one of my favorite albums of the last few years. This is one of the best songs for sure.
BUT this video kind of kills the aesthetic for me. It's corny and looks unprofessional. The music transports me to some parody San Francisco freakout dream sequence. This video takes me out of that place.
his voice remind me of mac demarco, but like a cuter version of mac's voice...
It sounds nothing like Mac demarco
+Geek97 haha
I never wondered what it would sound like if Beck did a Bob Dylan cover, but now I know. I kinda dig it.
I miss you :'(
Reminds me of Bob Dylan.
+John Sargent vocals sound alot like doug yule on hte verses
Fuck you Le Wulf!
Le Wulf reminds me of Bob Duncan
in fact Rolling Stones
will forte on drums
this whole album is great
DARE TO COMPARE? NAH, JUST GOOD MUSIC FROM A GREAT BAND "NO DESTRUCTION"...
Anybody singing it's all over now baby blue by bob Dylan??
maitumselovekrtahui
Hey, paramount ranch
