@Daniel Grooms bands are going to evolve and adapt to different styles of music, you can't expect a band that has been around for more than a decade to stick to the same style forever. i still think they have a unique sound; maybe it is less upbeat, but to me they sound just as good as ever.

+Garry Jack oh I know the whole "don't get pissed, bands change sounds" shpeal. I just miss the old sound.

Foo Fighters has had the same sound they started with 20 years ago. They are easily the most successful "rock band" of the last 20 years. I love every album just as much as the last. A good band shouldn't have to change their entire sound to write new music. It alienates the people who supported them and helped them get to where they are. They aren't beard core, but a few bands that have changed their sound from when they started in the early 2000's and are now complete shit are New Found Glory, Taking Back Sunday, Atreyu. They all used to be good. NFG in particular. Then they changed significantly. Anyone that STARTED out liking these bands now hates them. Fuck a band that turns their back on their core fans to make another dollar.

I agree with you. For me, ever since they got rid of their synth player, it's just not been the same. I miss that distinct sound they had.

I've been a massive NFG fan since 2000. They say bands develop and their styles change and progress, but for me, since "Radiosurgery", their music has taken a few steps backwards. It's so basic and generic and it sucks that that's what happened.

Progression was "All About The Girls" all the way to "Catalyst". For me, "Coming Home" was different and amazing but a lot of fans didn't like it. I've got a feeling because of that, they reverted back to their older style with the "Not Without A Fight" album, which had a lot of great tracks.

After that, for me, it just went downhill. Steve, who wrote most of their lyrics and guitar work, getting thrown out the band, was just the icing on the cake, but obviously that had to happen.

It's a shame because them, along with Lifetime, pioneered the whole "Pop-Punk/Hardcore" crossover, or "Easycore" in the late 90s and kept the genre progressing.

They are definitly my favorite label these days. They are like this generation’s drive thru records. Four year strong is by far my favorite band of all time. This self titled ep is my favorite album of all time. Can’t wait for them to release a new album.
