Four Seasons, The - Don't Think Twice Lyrics

Well, it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If'n you don't know by now
And it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It'll never do somehow

When your rooster crows at the break of dawn
Look out your window and I'll be gone
You're the reason I'm a-travellin' on
But don't think twice, it's all right

And it ain't no use in a-turnin' on your light, babe
The light I never knowed
And it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
I'm on the dark side of the road

But I wish there was something you would do or say
To try and make me want to change my mind and stay
But we never did much talkin' anyway
But don't think twice, it's all right

So it ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
Like you never done before
And it ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
I can't hear you anymore

I'm a-thinkin' and a-wonderin', walkin' down the road
I once loved a woman, a child I'm told
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
But don't think twice, it's all right

So long, honey baby
Where I'm bound I can't tell
And goodbye's too good a word, babe
So I'll just say "fare thee well"

I ain't a-sayin' you treated me unkind
You could've done better, but I don't mind
You just kind of wasted my precious time
But don't think twice, it's all right

  6. D.... W....

I break into hysterical laughter whenever I hear this!

  7. R.... D....

    Inspiration for Elmo

  8. m.... ....

I asked Google to 'Play The Who'... it said 'ok, Asking Amazon Music to play the Who'... and this came on. WTF? I can't stop listening to it though, it's too bizarre to put down. True car crash music

  9. M.... ....

When I first heard this, I never realized a man's voice could go that flipping high. It's catchy but Frankie's munchkin vocals are so damn annoying here. I love the Four Seasons, but I never really understood the whole Wonder Who? thing.

  10. S.... C....

My Chemical Romance covered Dylan's "Desolation Row" which appears on the "Watchmen" film soundtrack. This cover of "Don't Think Twice" is solid gold and I'm sure that Bob Dylan appreciates getting the royalty checks.

  11. D.... J....

    This sucks ass

  13. a.... c....

    I love this.!

  14. D.... ....

Seriously never got the appeal of this ridiculous group, no wonder why it was to easy for the Brits to take over in 64?

    D.... ....

the more I learn about the British Invasion, the more it puzzles me. How come such a short period of time was so rich musically. 64, 65, 66, 67 have so many classics that they surpass our era easily

    D.... ....

On the whole, I definitely prefer the group's later stuff (say, post-1965) way more than their slightly annoying doo-wop early days, barring several of their earlier hits which I do like, like Candy Girl and Dawn (Go Away).

  15. J.... B....

A huge 4 seasons fan and can never get enough of this. Not sure of their intentions here but the end result is one of a kind.

  16. C.... R....

Exactly what I needed during this break up. Because it's exactly how I feel.

  17. M.... R....

    👀 hello 2

  18. M.... R....

    👀 hello 1

  19. K.... M....

This is the best version of this song

    K.... M....

    Nailed it dude.

  20. L.... W....

I always loved this song by Frankie Valli & the 4 seasons when I was a young girl .

  21. A.... W....

I prefer this version in lieu of Dylan's

  22. i.... ....

This cut was a complete joke per Frankie Valli. It was not intended to be produced.

  23. P.... K....

Not everyone got the joke, but this is an imitation of jazz vocalist/pianist Rose Murphy covering Bob Dylan. If you know her work, it's a funny idea, as well as a virtuosic performance by Frankie Valli. (If you don't know her work, check her out. "I Can't Give You Anything But Love" is a good place to start.)

  24. L.... ....

A contender for the worst cover song of all time

    L.... ....

Or the best. Everyone has one.

  25. S.... M....

whilst this is The Four Seasons they recorded this as The Wonder Who,they also did a song called Peanuts

  26. S.... ....

Outrageous cover and maybe even an insult to Dylan but I'm guilty as hell, I love it.

  27. J.... P....

The bass guitarist does a heroic job here. The beauty he or she adds to the entire production is skilled art.

  28. A.... ....

Oh he's supposed to sound like that... I thought my 8-track was messed up! (Yes I am listening to a 4 seasons 8 track I got at a flea market)

    A.... ....

Time to discover the FOUR SEASONS. The group that could relate to the Blue Collar workers of the day. Long live the Jersey Boys!

  29. A.... W....

    love it

  30. Z.... B....

    He sounds like Elmo hahaha!

    Z.... B....

Zach Bush haha I knew it !!! I'm not alone !!!

    Z.... B....

    FUUUUGH

    Z.... B....

Zach Bush some one called me

    Z.... B....

@Elmo xD haha so ironic your here

    Z.... B....

    Hahaha! You know, he does!

  31. n.... P....

Thumbs up if, Me you and the apocalypse brought you here ... Cool song.

  32. R.... V....

This version of Don't think twice it's alright by the 4 Seasons was not meant to be released and shocked the hell out of the group when it became a big hit!

    R.... V....

really? This is the only version I know.

    R.... V....

+jcheeseman21 It also was by peter paul and mary, and severial groups

    R.... V....

    jcheeseman21 its a dylan song!

    R.... V....

My sister had this record and on the label it said the song is by “The Wonder Who” as if we weren’t supposed to know LOL!! It was a HUGE hit back in the day. Radios never played Dylan’s original version. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    R.... V....

@Teri Dactyl You're right on the money there. The 4 Seasons (like most groups of the time) had terrible contracts that paid them badly. Like the Beatles at the time, bands made money from touring. The 4 Seasons were in a dispute with their label in 1965 and chose to release music under a variety of names including "The Wonder Who" among others. Good catch!

  33. N.... 1....

sounds like the character from Big bang

    N.... 1....

    Bernadette?

  34. k.... ....

Nothing against Frankie Valli, I do love their big hits, but outside of William Shatner's Mr Tambourine Man this has to be one of the most ridiculous covers of a Dylan song I've heard. Nope doesn't work for me at all.

  35. T.... ....

Despite Valli's joke vocals it's actually a pretty good cover. I just wish a version with his normal voice could have been preserved.

    T.... ....

In parts of the song, you can hear Frankie singing in his normal voice. Around 2:00. It must just be a backing track. Awesome either way.

    T.... ....

Hagfan789 If I can recall it wasn’t meant to be released and just a joke

  36. G.... E....

    WARNING! WARNING! DANGER! DANGER!
For serious Bob Dylan/Frankie Valli fans ONLY.

  37. R.... ....

I remember this song when I was young..love it..love frankie valli

  38. R.... T....

    A truly unique version.

  39. f.... ....

Reminds me of Curly of the Three Stooges. But it does show you how huge Valli's range was, as he isn't straining at all. I don't think it's been enhanced either, although one never knows.

  40. s.... ....

    An utterly ridiculous cover.
