Bless you for your insight, wisdom and compassion. I became homeless when the apartment complex I had lived in for 12 years was sold to a buyer who raised my rent over $350 more per month! I sang this song with Jon every night before and after losing my home. I am a 57 yr old female with physical limitations (hit by a car) I have been terrified, abused, stripped of every belonging, friends all dead, no family. So I have to search for reasons to live, try to find some little piece of hope to hang on to.. JESUS, Jon and Switchfoot have been that for me. And continue to be every second of the day. Love

@Caroline Thank you for your kind words and prayer.. The same day you sent me the message I WENT TO SEE SWITCHFOOT AT THE CRYSTALBALL ROOM IN PORTLAND!!! I have been praying for and singing about RESURRECTION and RESTORATION. Someone I used to help when I had my home popped up and asked "what's the name of that band you love so much?" I replied " SWITCHFOOT "and started crying hysterically "they're going to be here next week and I cant be with them cus I dont have the money for a ticket" HALLELUJAH, NEVERTHELESS 🤣 He immediately handed me some money and said, "I know what SWITCHFOOT has meant to you and how their music helps you.. You have to be there!!" After 2 years of struggle and heartache I NEEDED THAT! I almost felt guilty - that I was not worthy - and that was a luxury I had no right to have. MY FATAL FLAW ANATOMY tryed to get the best of me but I RECOGNIZED THE LIAR... and Holy Spirit said to me YOU KEEP FEEDING THAT FIRE!!! YOUR JOY IS YOUR FUEL, MAKE A JOYOUS NOISE TO THE LORD!!! SING AND DANCE IN THE LIGHT AS THE SHADOWS RUN. It is a vital part of my existence- not a luxury. I honestly thought this song was about somebodys daughter who was killed or murdered (from finding the body and dental remains, identifying her body) im not sure but thats what i thought.

Hi. The song is about a homeless woman who lives on the street yet no one pays attention .. she then dies with no one to pay attention.. "an orphan" in this world -but she's a precious child of GOD, adopted into the family becoming a CHILD OF THE PROMISE AND SOMEBODY'S BABY GIRL!

My heart breaks and I shed tears every single time I listen to this song. I listen to remind me that not only is every homeless person I see 'somebody's baby' but also every person in general. It's easy to forget that when we get frustrated and angry with our fellow human beings....
