Foreigner - You're All I Am Lyrics
I never knew a man would be so lonely
The life of a treated man so wrong
But when the odds were all against me
You gave me the strength to carry on
You, you are my life, you're all I am
Only you can understand the way I am
You never give me enough of your love
I need more and more each day
Honey, can't you see the only thing I can be sure of
Is that something real has come my way
Oh, so I believe my heart, though sometimes it tears me apart
You, you are my life, you're all I am
Baby it's you, you are my life, you're all I am
Only you can understand the way I am
You know I live my life for you
You are my life, you're all I am
Ooh baby it's true, you are my life, you're all I am
Only you can understand the way I am

Foreigner You're All I Am Comments
I love this song, why did it not became so famous??
Double Vision, 8-track baby..this song just popped into my head...last song track track 4 I think...wow...they would never play this in their concerts here at Lakeland...'never got radio play. I think the only slow Foreigner song to get it was "4"'s "Waiting for a Girl" and the Agent's "Know What Love is " or better known as "I want to know what's over-played" LOL.... You're All I Am was cool song. simple.
It was one of their best. IDK why it got so little attention.
I never knew this song until a girlfriend played it off one of my albums. Obviously I never played the whole album 🌞
Do what? Are you serious? I dug grooves in mine. Lol. Then I got a cassette player and started stretching those out by over playing them. This is my favorite album and all these years later hot blooded is still my favorite song.
Foreigner is a timeless band. This song still hits like it did when I was a teen..
Amazing ballad 80s good times
Such a beautiful song, pure class
Lou gram is the best singer
I love you lou gramm, what a perfect voice and harmony, foreigner is my life, saw them 4 times in concerts, only one with lou gramm the one and only
Track 3 on the front side of the "Double Vision" Vinyl - quite possibly a front runner for the best tune on this great album.
this is a stripped down song with no room for error , no sex and visuals to hide behind . WELL DONE .
I actually had THIS track played at my wedding, back in Sept' 1983, along with "Summer Lightning" (by Camel), "Silver, Blue & Gold" (by Bad Company) & another track by U.F.O = Superb memories & happy times = Great listening to this, once again....
I like Kelly Hansen, I don't think anyone else could sound better than Kelly at this point. The one thing Kelly doesn't seem to have is that mournful element to the vocals like Lou does when he sings.
Seeing foreigner tonight 3/10/18..At the borgata a/c..No Lou Gramm..last time I saw them was in the 80s at the spectrum Philadelphia...can't wait got 2nd row seats..they still rock..See you there everybody!
No loud grahm no foreigner cover band
This is a timeless Amazing Beautiful Incredible Love Song
♥♥♥
Great song.
these early jones slow song gramm brings them alive jones had wrote most of my favories from foreigner like "Fool for You Anyway" & "Women" & "I Have Waited So Long"
The Beatles could not have done it better
That was mine and my kids daddy's song back in the day....
Excellent song.
One of my brothers favorite albums artists miss u Charles ..till we meet on the other side
So surprised this wasn't released as a single.
I know it! This would be a great wedding song.
Great so g 👍
The solo part is speaking my heart & my life out. Love this song.
I have a heart LOL
you have errors in the lyrics
not "treated man" it is life would treat a man"
Im sure a band called jj foot that played at the 3 rabbits pub manor park used to sing this in the late 70s and i didnt even know who done the original ! I love it still ☺
dave brown This is Foreigner's original.
Wow Dave, Manor Park was on my doorstep (Chadwell Heath lad here !)
The 3-Rabbits Pub was pretty legendary, as Iron Maiden used to regularly play there, as well as the 'Ruskin Arms', obviously before they became world-famous !
Baz Bazdad bloody loud at the ruskin ! 😊👍. Chadwell heath - yeah, the greyhound ! Or, the kings in the high rd was another haunt ! Other than that - tiffany.s or room at the top ! Memorable times my friend about 40 years ago 😊
Part of the solo reminds me of the chorus riff in We Wish You Well by Whitesnake.
I loved this whole album. Im sure i went thru 4 or 5 copies over time. Not to mention cassette.
@Valerie Smith I think this album is the only actual artist cassette I ever owned.
Anytime I hear blue morning blue day I always start singing this when it goes off. My brain is still set to the album. I won't mention how many cassettes I went through either.
...again, l was only an ignorant and innocent teenager when l first heard this simple, but great song and eventually l lost track of this song until youtube reminds me all the great memories brought along by this song...thanks a lot Lou Gramm for using his voice and soul to bring forward the song
THIS SONG THE TITLE MEANT MY LOVE FOR A GERMANY WOMAN SUZANNE HOFBAUER TODAY MARRIED BUT BEFORE WHEN SINGLE SHE WAS SUZANNE DAUB FROM STEGEN FREIBURG DEUTSCHLAND
Truly a classic love song.
I don't get why Double Vision (one of their best albums) didn't get in the liner notes yet their other albums did
Only you can understand the way i am.
Double Vision didn't have any liner notes. All of their other albums did.
me too, especially their first 4 albums!
I am From Lou Gram's home town no question
he was the greatest rock ballad voice ever
정말 오랜만에 듣는 포리너의 명곡 중의 명곡. 오랜만에 들으니 더욱 좋네요.^^
I'm so glad I'm growing up to this kind of music, and I'm surrounded with great music like this! *Not the radio, I mean my parents only listen to good stuff like this c:
one of my favorite song of Foreigner.....
I wish there were some Full albums of Foreiger posted. Foreigner is a really great band with a lot of hits.
This song brings back some pleasant memories. Pretty girlfriend in my Metalic Shadow Blue Mustang, Full Moon that night, parked by the lake, and Foreigner playing in the cassette deck! Lovely!
Agreed. Though I'm sure some band members (past and present) are grateful it wasn't.
I seem to hear a definite Queen vibe in this
Sash ... do you not have the album or CD of these songs? The lyrics are always in the liner notes of Foreigner albums. There is no guessing involved. "I never knew a man could be so lonely. That life would treat a man so wrong.
I won a karaoke contest singing this song once LOL.
l was only 20 when l first heard this very song but then l lost track of this song. Suddenly l came across this song again in Youtube like its original version. Thanks to the technology. lndeed, the lyric and the melody has reminded me a lot of good times and bad times...
Picture it... 1979.... 8-track player on the bookcase headboard playing me to sleep every night. Thank goodness the track changed in the middle of Spellbinder instead of this song...
This should have a been big hit. Amazing lyrics.
Back when this masterpiece was originally released, this song spoke for a lot of us fellas who were head over heels for a particular woman.
One of their all time best songs and clearest vocals...with passion and meaning. BRAVO! Brings back so many memories.
double vision.....truly one great album. this song being one of my all time fav's. It has surely stood the test of time! I can listen to it over and over and over. thanks for posting it!
I haven't heard this song for a very long time, definitely one of Foreigner's most underappreciated tunes.
