Foreigner - Woman Oh Woman Lyrics

Search through the years
And you wipe away the tears
To find a woman, not a girl
Just that feeling, like the beginning of the world

Beginning of the world

And your love flows down like a river
'Til it reaches down to the sea
And it's then you start to thinking
Will the water, will the water cover me?

Woman oh woman
Don't bury me alive
Just make me feel I've the right to survive
Woman oh woman
I hope that you can see
This is nothing like our love was meant to be
Love was meant to be

You search through the years
And you wipe away the tears
To find a woman, not a girl
But a feeling, like the beginning of the world

Woman oh woman
Don't bury me alive
Just make me feel I've the right to survive
Woman oh woman
I hope that you can see
This is nothing like our love was meant to be

Woman oh woman
Woman oh woman
Woman oh woman
Woman oh woman

Woman oh woman
Oh woman

Mick Jones singing the opening sounds so much like ELO's Jeff Lynne.

Don't remember much if any airplay with this song. Great lyrics and just a soulful song. Not sure if Foreigner is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but they should be.

  13. K.... C....

SING IT. FEEL IT FROM THE. .SOUL.

  14. D.... ....

Is it Mick Jones on lead vocals in the verses or is it Lou Gramm? To me it sounds more like Mick Jones singing.

    D.... ....

It's Mick's voice (as you thought), on the verses only -
Whilst Mick was/is the group's leader & chief songwriter, he only sung lead vocals on a few of their tracks...
Like for example, "Back Where You Belong" and "Modern Day".
(On the "Double Vision" & "Head Games" album, respectively).

    D.... ....

I know Mick also sang lead on "I Have Waited So Long" as well, did Mick sing lead on "Fool For You Anyway"? I do notice that most of Foreigner's songs has Mick Jones's names at the beginning of the credits.

    D.... ....

No, that's not Mick singing "Fool For You Anyway".
It's Lou, coasting along, by singing in the lower-register.
Mick did sing the verses on "Starrider"...on this first album.
(until Lou kicks-in with the line... "Speed increasing, all control.." etc)

  15. s.... i....

has a slight touch of Indian songs

    s.... i....

I hear that! Indians are awesome people...both cultures.
Probably the best people on the planet.

  16. M.... ....

    Great song!

  17. P.... S....

Woman Oh Woman; Amazing in so many ways; frustrating in eaqually as many. Beauty is yours, men are drawn and stung by God's gift to us. So warm at times, yet, the power of so cold. The eggshells I walk upon keep me guessing. Much love!

    P.... S....

Equally thumbs up and thumbs down. LOL. Well said.

  18. D.... O....

Lou is so bad ass - his voice is basically perfect

    D.... O....

David Otto Yes what a beautiful voice. Like Dennis DeYoung, Pat Benatar, Robert Plant, Grace Slick, Ann Wilson, Blondie, and SO many others I do a disservice to by not mentioning. This was one of the best rnr albums from those days.

  19. r.... v....

great times in the 70's man oh man !!!!!!!!!
