Ford, Robben - Birds Nest Bound Lyrics

I'm going to build me a birds nest
Right in the heart of your town
I'm going to build me a birds nest
Right in the heart of your town
And I won't worry about no men
Try'in to tear my birds nest down

I'm go'in to build my birds nest boys
Won't be on the ground
I'm go'in to build my birds nest boys
Won't be on the ground
I'm go'in to build it so solid to you
Just can't tear it down

Yes I would be a jay bird
I'd be sippin' from your well
If I was a jay bird
Sippin' from your well
I'd be right in the heart of your town
I'm gonna give these high brows, hell

I'm goin to build my birds nest boys
Won't be on the ground
I'm goin to build my birds nest boys
Won't be on the ground
I'm going to build it so solid to you
Just can't tear it down

If I was a jay bird
I'd be sippin' from your well
If I was a jay bird
I'd be sippin' from your well
I'd be right in the heart of your town
I'm gonna give these high brows hell

Ford, Robben Birds Nest Bound Comments
  1. J.... F....

I waited. And I waited..was the amazing solo the bass...lol

  2. h.... c....

Hes got swing in the blues
    ,luv it

  3. N.... W....

    The master !!

  4. F.... N....

Robben's got more in his shirt pocket than I got in my house... there ain't no end to what he can bring out...

  5. P.... S....

It seems to me Sadowsky is a must for bass at Robben Ford, haha!.... nice playing...

  6. j.... ....

A Redwood Studio.... There sure are some beautiful studios out in the woods.... Life's so goo--ood.... birds nest in the woods..

  7. J.... K....

That's the most amazing room and stage I've ever played anywhere.

    J.... K....

Jeff Kenny same name, the only place on earth you won’t get harassed for playing loudly lmao

  8. M.... K....

I think your comment regarding the roles of the drums and bass is spot on. I have been drumming for 40 years, and the more I learn and listen, the simpler and more supportive of the other players my drumming has become. I like that role.

  9. R.... S....

Robben Ford é um gênio, um mestre em timbre, um compositor fabuloso, guitarrista fantástico e muito autêntico, não se sente o tempo passar quando se para para escutar essa música incrível, sempre bis bis bis. Um salve a Robben Ford!

  10. N.... F....

Robben and his Tele - Yes so good damm god. niels

  11. A.... B....

    Bland, banal and pointless.

  12. d.... ....

This is definitely my type of blues!

  13. R.... V....

I love his smooth way he jams out the slow blues so clean !!!!!!

  14. R.... L....

Hats off to all the boys in the band. I miss you all. Fantastic camp. Please come back , if not next year, then soon.
    Peace & Love,
    Dr Brad ( Star)

  15. B.... a....

    Johnny Winter he ain't

  16. B.... S....

    Damn this is great!

  17. T.... P....

    Its just a jam..

  18. g.... m....

Pretty cool but like Jimi once said "Its just a jam"

  19. A.... B....

one of the most inspired solos even by Robbens standard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. C.... p....

Ford is a great artist, a great personality and a gentleman. That said, he needs a lyricist, ( I gladly volunteer), and an arranger.(Not me). His affection for the Diminished scale has become an affliction. Miles had lot of ideas. Some he drove into the ground. Ford needs a nice introverted kid from The Bronx with a a thorough background in theory. Let the kid arrange one album.

  21. G.... V....

As time goes by I see just how great Ford is, he’s incredibly complete. Never makes a mistake.

  22. p.... w....

    just amazing guitar loads...

  23. R.... S....

Best part about this is the comments ...they run the gamut from stellar to stink to stop singing ....one guy even complains about the "blouse"....lmao ...his wife does dress him funny. But honestly he is a great taste player no question about it

  24. C.... ....

Strat n tele compliment each other well👌

  25. D.... ....

The Marshall head sitting on the too-small cabinet really drives my aesthetic sensibilities nuts.

    D.... ....

Diax1324 that fuckers loud my friend

    D.... ....

    In a good way

  26. M.... ....

    On time and in tune.

  27. F.... L....

must be crazy to some people that robben ford is my actual favourite blues players and that i consider him one of the best ones. He is very underrated, but that doesnt matters to him, look at this groove in 2015...tight AF.

    F.... L....

Wow frank, thanks for sharing that story. I would love to see him live, but I was unaware of him when he came some years ago to my country, Argentina. you´re very lucky, you´ve seen him so many times and also met him personally!, that would be kind of a dream for me. Blue line music is georgeous I agree!!! I love the "authorized bootlegs" recording. As a musician myself he is one of my biggest Influences without a doubt and lately I´ve been listening to him speak and he´s an inspiration as a human being to me too, Like you said hes very down to earth. Greeting from argentina! and pardon the french haha

    F.... L....

Not really, but im a musician too and I´m german descendant haha

    F.... L....

@Francisco Lerche Good to hear back, I was lucky enough to see the Authorized Bootleg at a great venue, Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago Illinois, The Tiger Walk tour was pretty incredible too but than again I couldn't think of a Ford show I didn't love, maybe some more than others, I'm not on Facebook for a variety of reasons but I am on Pinterest and have a couple of guitar sections you might enjoy, you are sure welcomed to check them out, It's under my full name so I'll leave it out here for you but will take it down after you've found it, I've made some enemies unfortunately because I'm an outspoken critic of our Napoleon Velveeta and hope you're not offended by that ,also in my Guitarist Extraordinaire section there's a nice little Ford history piece, if I missed any guitar players feel free to let me know I'll add them, in fact I'd appreciate your input.

    F.... L....

I don´t have a pinterest account but I would made one to check out those videos and stories. I dont even know what Napoleon Velveeta is so no problem. Would you give me the pisterest adress?

    F.... L....

@Francisco Lerche Frank Digilio should pull it up and Napoleon Velveeta is my nick name for our fearless leader, sorry I'm not a fan of our president but that's for another day ,can't help but think you'll enjoy some of the players I've collected, have a great day.

  28. a.... s....

,I grabbed my UE Boom , love this piece

  29. s.... i....

Ai 97 non mi piace consiglio il sito della pausini che fa per loro

  30. s.... ....

Sorry but Robben hasn't played an "Amazing" solo since Inside Story...

  31. s.... ....

My thoughts exactly should be a beer

  32. M.... P....

This guy is so Slinky smooth & funky...

  33. I.... a....

Sorry guys too much lag on the tension notes for me.. Yeah, yeah I know it's "cool & sophisticated"  for the latte red wine high brows but too much jazz sprinkled over blues just makes it awkward. Come on upper crust sheriffs have at me lol..

  34. D.... W....

Who is that other guitar player. ....he's good!

  35. j.... ....

    Noooooo stop singing

  36. T.... M....

    世界最高のギターリストだ!

  37. J.... B....

That guy is way too loud. You can only hear him and the soloing is so loud it is annoying. Too bad. He's got some great tone.

  38. D.... C....

    robbin as a greatvoice

  39. z.... ....

Everyone says that the support band are very reserved and not driving forward. If you were up there with Robben you would feel a little over awed, intimidated. These guys are probably at the camp to learn how Robben Ford plays. These camps are for all members of a band, you learn feel, timing and how to play in an ensemble. I live in Australia, on an island to the south and we don't get opportunities like these, so stop ya' bitching and get up there ya' self!

  40. T.... ....

The woman playing the Telecaster was great as well.

    T.... ....

You are a really bad guy. Woman do not have that big feet :-)

    T.... ....

@Kim Hansen Holy shit the size of them!

  41. D.... E....

    Those vocals......not good.

  42. M.... A....

the thing is none of these amps are mic up just the sound of the camcorder mic..you have to experience this live, and Man is it awesome and fun ,jeff mcelain is the nicest guy you will ever meet and one of the best Guitar teachers you could ever sit under,,and Robben Ford enough said..the best of the best!! and a real funny guy great personality..and for the Bass player he is also a college professor he teaches music just a great person.they all have achieved Greatness in personal character as well as musicians . As for all the weird comments ..i am really surprised..i did last years Guitar camp , Wow! it was awesome! people fly in from all around the world ,germany , italy, canada,,it was one of the best experiences of my life..so : to all you arm chair ::: Ney Sayers I Say "HUH!" REALLY WEIRD COMMENTS for such a class act!!

  43. B.... ....

OMG is this boring or what!!???

  44. D.... P....

Love his playing with Jing Chi. Check out the song Aurora!!!

  45. J.... G....

I like the bassist's solo best.. Better than Robben's even. More melodic, follows the chord changes better and sits in the groove of the song better.

  46. J.... G....

I first heard his song Revelation 30 years ago and have been a fan ever since.

  47. P.... E....

Great song and band and Robben gives a master class on electric guitar!

  48. M.... F....

    Terrific!

  49. C.... ....

I wish you could fast forward the bass solos in real life.

  50. j.... f....

    My god thats terrible

    j.... f....

There is no God, but if there were, you would have to spell his/her/its name with a captial G :-).

  51. M.... L....

You go Jeff and Co. I'd be shaking up on stage with Mr. Ford. A little bit of Kady, ha!

  52. S.... T....

Are they scared to play?or are they bored?

  53. J.... B....

Jeff and Robben are very respectful of each other, and there will be no guitar slinging today. Ford is a giant of guitar player, as far as I'm concerned one of the top 10 all time great players. McErlain had some very tasty moves as well, I wouldn't want to have to play on stage with either. Thanks for the great cops. I wish some one would just screw up for once.

  54. T.... B....

Looks like fun...I hope to make it to one of these in the future.

  55. B.... F....

Looks like fun...need to make it to one of these in the future.

  56. F.... D....

Great boots Robben. You played on my 24th birthday in Collingwood,Melbourne Australia sometime in the early nineties. A great night just as your Cream tour was recently.

  57. V.... M....

    Aaaaaasaassssh! Thanks!Maaaaaarvellous!

  58. r.... d....

Fucking sad reading these comments. None of you have the right to rate/judge/critique ANY git player who is known worldwide and has made a fortune doing what they are loving to do - who THE FUCK do you poofters think you are? Bunch of wankers.

  59. R.... 8....

This is stale without any energy or drive whatsoever. Check out Eric Steckel who is a young gun and see just what blues power is.

  60. R.... B....

This is the best Blues I have ever heard. There is Robert Johnson; Lightning Hopkins; Muddy Waters; Howlin Wolf; in one Song. There is also Tom Waits; Ry Cooder and Eric Clapton in it; but most of all Robben Ford. What a brilliant musican.
The guy really knows his chords and chops and aplies them with such panash and chilled out aproach.
    Brrilliant. Absolutely first cream.

    R.... B....

Don't forget it's also the title of Charlie Patton's song, the real father of the blues

  61. a.... ....

    Telecasterrrrrr.......

  62. E.... S....

jeff gets his ass handed to him..
    tone wise, skilz wise

  63. 1.... ....

Robben Ford is a sick sick bastard.

I'll never be able to play like that.

  64. C.... H....

Rob is a class act for sure and how sweet is that tele ,like honey.

  65. R.... J....

I ve already listen this song a million times, It s an amazing ...

  66. C.... S....

Hi Kip! Glad to see you playing with Robben Ford, and sounding great as always. I hope the world is treating you well. Best, Courtney

  67. C.... K....

God. the tones of that tele that Robben gets is just heaven to my ears...

  68. J.... B....

Notice how Robben gets completely out of the way of the other players. That's taste.

    J.... B....

John Buffaloe yep..taste, class, humility and maturity. Greatness exemplified.

  69. D.... ....

I add once again, this is poor club type music from any standpoint. Nothing here but the basics with poor sound, vocals and stage presence. Robben is better than this but maybe time has caught up.

  70. T.... N....

    so amazing !! awesome !

  71. r.... r....

    Painful.

    r.... r....

    Arsehole

  72. m.... ....

that's 6 minutes of my life I can never get back

    m.... ....

    Arsehole

  73. d.... m....

Wait 6 minutes for this great solo 👍🏼

  74. M.... H....

Check out young Mr. Robben Ford playing with Jimmy Witherspoon (on youtube finally) and receivcing standing ovations, he is playing the heck out of his guitar, would rank this even with the legendary Allmann Brothers e.g Stormy Monday live at Fillmore East. Robben is on fire there!. Saw Mr Ford him the first time in 1972 here in Germany and looking forward to seeing him with HR-Bigband on March 24.

  75. G.... W....

I've always loved his touch and approach. And to quench any immature comments on "Who's best", it's all in the ear as a listener. Might as well argue about vegetables.

  76. P.... F....

How does he get his pants over the tops of his boots?

    P.... F....

    Peter Fedorenko practice.

  77. E.... C....

    Very nice

  78. L.... o....

Man, Robben sounds awesome. His style of Blues is Jazzier than the typical Blues played by many. This is why I like it, because it is smoother and laid back type of Blues. Don't get me wrong I love me some down and dirty Blues but Robben's style is very good too. Also that Telecaster sounds so good. Robben sounds great though any guitar he plays but this Telecaster is sweet.

  79. E.... ....

    Perfection meets feel :)

  80. r.... b....

    absolutly fantastic

  81. M.... R....

    fome el baterista.

  82. I.... w....

listening for 20 years almost now and never understood that blouse.

    I.... w....

    He's a boob.

    I.... w....

If you can play like him, then you could dress how you want

    I.... w....

Robin is a Mary that's why he wears a blouse. Just look at his face!

    I.... w....

get rid of your limitations guys, clothes are just clothes a necklace is a necklace, they’re neither Mary nor Gary!

    I.... w....

Sorry Edu...male and female is a real thing.

  83. C.... Z....

what a great musician an good attitude

  84. J.... B....

This obviously in-camera audio from a single digital cam, maybe even a phone. Relax on the production values.

  85. m.... a....

Did the bass player forget to turn his amp on ?

    m.... a....

Only he can hear himself play.

    m.... a....

its just bad audio on the video recording, probly sounded fine live

    m.... a....

He forgot it at the rehearsal space

    m.... a....

I can hear him perfectly in the video....

  86. M.... F....

    telecaster cool sound

  87. I.... N....

robben ford is better than this. whole band is loose as.

    I.... N....

    Super agree

    I.... N....

You moron it is camp and they are students....lame ass

  88. m.... d....

    sir tony wilson on bass

  89. R.... M....

For almost twenty years now I have been listening to Robben and during this long time there is no show or album of his that I do not enjoy. He is one of my guitar heroes of all time! Getting older (as all of us are), but delivering strong!

    R.... M....

Glad you felt the need to respond at length to alleviate your feeling of moral guilt.

    R.... M....

One can only feel regret for your cognitive dissonance
issues certainly when associated with ignorance and willful disregard of the
truth twisted to your own logic. Not to worry, you are a member of 95% of the
population and people wonder why the world’s wealth sits with 5% of the
    population.  Have a good life.

    R.... M....

Can't believe it's been literally over 35 years for myself, seeing shows annually if not more over all the years. Amazing to have been introduced to my virgin show with The Yellowjackets at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, and many, many, many venues ever since, looking forward to the next performance.

    R.... M....

Yep and his sound is as just recognizable as Clapton's. I'd love to go to this retreat to learn & jam with him 3 days. He's the only guy I would want to sign the '53 my father left me.

    R.... M....

    DCee It's Robben

Amazing Solo and Music Great Music Made by Robben Ford !

  92. d.... z....

I played in a three piece for 10 years with lots of gigs and always good comments, that drumming in my opinion is perfect and the bass player has to be right in the groove with the kick drum, it taught me as singer lead guitarist to sing and fill out the space with my lead and rhythm playing combined although I shied away from self indulgent long solos except songs like La Grange or smoke on the water where the audience sort of liked to hear those solos note for note. I also found plexi head with quad box pushed a lot of air and filled most rooms nicely, didnt need to be loud either. Hardest part for me playing professionally was other band members demands and personality clashes and I got really disillusioned and gave up playing completely. Robben Ford really nice player.

    d.... z....

Jeff my friend!! What a great surprise to see you up there with Robben! You have such a great feel and touch. I think you guys blended together so well. Makes me smile to see you doing what you do and loving it. Keep up the tremendous work sir!! Thank you Robben and everyone playing in this! The subtleties are astounding.
    Jer

    d.... z....

Yes the ppl factor........ Always a turn off.

    d.... z....

    Really nice comment.

  93. G.... D....

The Strat guy plays a nice solo too!

    G.... D....

They all sound great but robins voice is just so ,,,,,,,,bright

  94. A.... K....

You are the only Robben Ford I luurve,Robben!!!

  95. M.... W....

I consider Robben Ford music as "Lougy Blues". Good though........

    M.... W....

    Arsehole

    M.... W....

It was blues enough for Miles Davis

    M.... W....

    Well said Robert.

  96. P.... G....

seen him in Cardiff last night very impressed but seemed like he was in a rush to leave life on the road I guess the gig lasted 1 and a half hours at the most

  97. C.... P....

Good lord. Robben's tone is good enough to make even the pros jealous. What a great player.

  98. v.... ....

Robben's guitar sound on this is incredible!

    v.... ....

I dare say that he could plug into any half decent tube amp and and sound just as good.
